The problem with my being fully up to date on reading Witch Hat Atelier is that my anime-only (for now) husband has no idea why I’m having such strong emotional reactions to each episode. Is it touching? Sad? Happy? Do I just really love that character and I’m excited to see them? It’s a mystery!

My whole plan of quitting tech to do art has ironically been pushed back by my tech not working the way I need it to. Who knew trying to set up external monitors would take me several HOURS because of updates, drivers, dead cords, dying hubs, dying monitors, and excessively slow downloads. 🫠

There are ENTIRE STATES where trans people just straight up cannot use a public restroom under threat of arrest, bodily harm or worse. When I moved to NJ I had pull behind an abandoned Arby's and piss in a Gatorade bottle because that was safer than trying to use a gas station in some states.

Somehow I not only remembered a school lunch from elementary school, but managed to find the distributor to order it from. Why did my memory latch onto a taste from 30 years ago? I don’t know. But I do know that I now have a freezer full of taco nadas. (And yes, they were as good as I remembered.)

I think one of the most depressing things for me when it came to quitting was how many people were genuinely envious of me leaving to pursue art. It shouldn’t be a risk to pursue joy, but it absolutely is in the US especially. I recognize how privileged and lucky I am to be able to chase my dreams.
