My feelings on AI generated art are complex and inconcrete, but at the end of the day, most if it's just bad. 😅 And if I'd gone into that video knowing it was AI... well, I wouldn't have watched it, but if I'd HAD to for some reason, then at least I would have expected it to be bad!

I listen to a lot of video game music on Youtube while editing, and yesterday the algorithm recommended a 'mariachi covers of Zelda' video. I got 15 minutes into it before I had to turn it off because it was so bad, clearly not done by someone who knew anything about mariachi.

I want to mention that gaming stores can also be a good place! I'm in Utah temporarily and there's a ton of gaming stores where designers meet to playtest their projects, but even in other regions game stores can often connect you to local game designers! #ACESchat

It's really satisfying as an editor to find ways to clarify game rules. I always envision the future player while I edit, and predicting potential rules arguments, and helping designers circumvent them, is the best! #ACESchat

I still have some organizing to do, but I've completely rearranged my office, primarily to transition to a floor desk (my floor cushion being the cannibalized remains of an old wobbly chair). My fancy expensive motorized sit-stand desk is now basically a windowseat for the cats 😅

I keep being reminded of the 2012 movie The Neighbors. Its a serial killer movie, but not a hunt or mystery. It's blatantly obvious who the killer is from moment one. He's bad at it. He lives in the same apartment building as every other character and drops clues like Reese's Pieces...
