There are a lot of details in here about Zuck releasing a half-baked product, but one thing that really stands out is just how weird these folks are. www.nytimes.com/2026/10/09/t...
Meta’s A.I. leaders also incorporated OpenClaw into their own lives. Mr. Friedman hooked his agent up to cameras in his house, where it would instruct him to do things like drink water to stay hydrated.
“It sent me a snapshot frame of me drinking a bottle of water and said, ‘Good job,’” Mr. Friedman said at a recent tech conference.
In another instance, while talking to his agent about ways to get better sleep, OpenClaw took over Mr. Friedman’s self-driving Tesla and redirected him to a grocery store to pick up magnesium pills. At Meta’s annual developer conference last month, Mr. Zuckerberg said he had connected his agent to cameras in his martial arts gym so that it could critique his fighting form.
Yet there were safety concerns. Agents could sometimes go rogue or take over software apps. In February, one agent took over the work computer of a Meta safety researcher, deleting her emails uncontrollably.
“I couldn’t stop it from my phone,” Summer Yue, the researcher, wrote on social media. “I had to RUN to my Mac mini like I was defusing a bomb.”

You NEED to understand that this is happening in America. It’s the intentional plan of a vile white supremacist in the White House, who sees this as an opportunity to finally torture and expel all the nonwhite people he hates.

Maybe this is one for the Patreon but I do wonder how you listen to music. I know you're a fast reader but you can't listen fast. Do you sit in the dark and take it in or while doing other stuff? Does this vary depending on if it's a record for a current episode vs pleasure? Or does that not exist?

He is explicitly calling for pogroms. (I ask again: at what point will our major news organizations finally acknowledge that he is either mentally ill or a vile racist or both?)

WHOA. This is big news. Mr. Soliman is a 31-year-old gay man from Egypt who came here at 3 with a green card. He lost his green card after a conviction, but an immigration judge found that he would be persecuted in Egypt and barred sending him there. He's locked in a hotel in Equatorial Guinea now.
A federal judge has ordered the Department of Homeland Security to return Ahmed Soliman to the United States, five months after he was expelled to Equatorial Guinea, a country where he has no ties, in a decision that could have far-reaching implications for thousands of others subjected to the Trump administration’s third-country removal scheme.

Arizona District Court Judge John C. Hinderaker, a Trump appointee, ruled that DHS violated the Due Process Clause of the Fifth Amendment and “must facilitate Plaintiff’s release from custody in Equatorial Guinea and return to the United States and must ensure his case is handled as it would have been had he not been improperly sent to Equatorial Guinea.”

Universities bring in foreign students ... to undercut the wages of American residents? What? This is exactly backwards. Foreign students subsidize the tuition of American students. I wonder why the VP who follows Nazis online has this all wrong. Probably an innocent, non-racist mistake.

I think fundamentally this depends what they mean by "podcast". 'Bunch of people chatting and maybe something is sort of scripted/planned' works on video because it's background noise for people. But researched, edited, and thoughtful content works so much better as audio most of the time.

Pretty clear to me there’s a very good case against this man for mass murder, and I’m saying that in as measured a fashion as I can. He’s order the killing of 234 people under no plausible war or legal justification. I am skeptical he will ever face legal accountability for til his but he should.

Cornell's social life is also heavily weighted to frat parties for freshmen. Lots of people move off campus later and have house parties but it takes a while to find those groups. Frats become the default for many so there's a constant flow of new, vulnerable people looking for community.

Today I saw the new 4 hour documentary Musk, directed by Alex Gibney. There were too many times to count that a sold out theater burst out laughing at Elon Musk, something he said or did, even sometimes just how he looked. I believe that is his worst nightmare come to life.
