It’s remarkable how many people can move on a street when those people don’t feel the need to always take a massive car with them. Mobility in cities is about space.
Busy European street with buses filled with people in a long line of people on bikes, waiting for the light to change in a separated, protected bike lane. Imagine if all those people or each in a separate car.

“Build it, and they will come”… cargo bikes line up for Dublin school run
Up to 25 cargo bicycles outside a school; must it be the Netherlands? No, it's becoming the norm at some Dublin schools along newer, higher-quality cycle routes. Parents use cargo bikes to carry children as an alternative to cars, and businesses use them to carry goods as van replacements for some trips. Cllr Lorraine Hall, a councillor for Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown, is highlighting that a range of box bikes and long-tail cargo bikes are now pulling up outside primary schools in Blackrock and Dún Laoghaire near routes such as the Coastal Mobility Route (pictured).

What does the new high-vis and helmet law mean for e-scooter users in Ireland?
It's now illegal to use e-scooters on public roads without wearing high-vis and a helmet. But what does that actually mean? You must now wear a high-vis vest and a bicycle helmet on an e-scooter (see details below). But in a very Irish way of doing things, it's not yet a finable offence, so if you're stopped, you should only get a warning at most for now.
