EHRC now saying that not only should trans people be excluded from sex segregated spaces, but ALSO those matching birth sex: “A legitimate aim for excluding a trans person from … service for their own biological sex …to prevent alarm or distress for other service users.” archive.ph/2025.08.07-2...
The Times understands that the guidance is still being finalised and it will not decree that services have to provide single-sex spaces, but that if they do - for example if a lavatory is intended for women - transgender women would be excluded from using it. To allow someone of the opposite sex to use the facilities would be very likely to amount to unlawful discrimination.
It will also make clear that it will not be deemed as discrimination to exclude trans people from those facilities and that services will be allowed to request birth certificates to ensure single-sex services are protected. It read: "A legitimate aim for excluding a trans person from a separate or single-sex service for their own biological sex might be to prevent alarm or distress for other service
users.
"A trans man might be excluded from the women-only service if the service provider decides that, because he presents as a man, other service users could reasonably object to his presence, and it is a proportionate means of achieving a legitimate aim to exclude him".

Anyone who belongs to any minority group needs to be aware that what is being done to trans people can and will be done to them. In a decade we have been stripped of our rights to exist in public spaces by a press campaign and a well funded lobby.

1888 trans masc 'Deception'
Photograph of a newspaper clipping titled "A Rathmines Romance." The article, from The Dublin Freeman's Journal of Jan. 9, discusses a family in Rathmines consisting of a widowed mother, two or three sons, and three daughters. Two of the daughters were prepossessing and accomplished. The third, the eldest, was also attractive and possessed musical talent, which she displayed at social gatherings. She also had a talent for drawing. She was an admirable tennis player and an agreeable figure in society. A couple of months ago, she announced that she would go to London to study at the South Kensington School of Art. She returned at Christmas, and many ladies called at her house to see her. The mother calmly announced that her "daughter" was a boy, and then the quondam Miss entered the room dressed in masculine attire, having abandoned the character which she or he (as we must now call him) had been so long assuming of a girl. The incident gave rise to great perturbation among the acquaintances of the family, and as a result no little unpleasantness has occurred. Those who knew the young gentleman as Miss are extremely astonished at the turn affairs have taken. They find it hard to believe that such a deception could have gone on for years without any suspicion of the real circumstances being entertained. The young man has been regarded as a girl, from his infancy. He went to school as a girl, dressed as a girl, entered society as a girl, and behaved as a girl, so that the sudden announcement of his true position in society has naturally caused some commotion among the acquaintances of the young man, while the incident forms a subject of comment to those who do not know the family and have become aware of the occurrence.

I know posting "the girls are fighting" seems funny, but it's actually insensitive and shitty. My father died in a girl fight. He tried to break it up and the girls pulled him apart like freshly baked bread. He didn't even scream. One moment he was there, the next just a spray of dad viscera.

Post from coleopterabyte:

Part of the reason I'm so adamant about encouraging people to get comfortable with bugs, my own interests aside, is because we cannot have a bright, solarpunk future without them.
A green future is not a bugless future. It is, in fact, a fairly bugful future. If you care about ecological stability, then you need to start with bugs, because they're the most at risk with our current use of
pesticides.

5 ways to make life exciting from tumblr user slfcare. I especially enjoy the idea of adding in sensory experience for all 5 senses. The best hobbies involve using all your senses.
five recipes for an exciting life (in my opinion)

1. spending enough time creating things with your hands (baking, drawing, scrapbooking, doodling, crocheting, journaling and so on)
2. keeping track of things like pretty skies, milestones, happy memories, appointments you're looking forward to

3. listening to music that genuinely makes you feel happy and energetic

4. making a habit of reaching out to people in a way that's comfortable to you (i send my dad songs he might like, my friend sends me monthly life updates)

5. being kind to all your five senses → like investing in a scented candle or essential oil dispenser or body mist, having a soft blanket or socks (or a soft animal to pet), listening to birdsong or the rain, looking at the sky more often, and having your favorite foods enough times

"We have never seen a completely sane adult human." No one makes it out of this life unscathed.
Please remember that almost everyone around you is traumatized. I didn't understand this when I was younger. I wondered why people acted so strangely and irrationally. Maybe all children wonder this. The author Robert Anton Wilson said (paraphrasing), "We have never seen a completely sane adult human." No one makes it out of this life alive. It's not their fault. Mercy, kindness, forgiving - these are what makes one human. They are other names for love. People break in the strangest of ways.

"Under the present brutal and primitive conditions on this planet, every person you meet should be regarded as one of the walking wounded. we have never seen a man or woman not slightly deranged by either anxiety or grief. we have never seen a totally sane human being." - Robert Anton Wilson

In the 1700s, Goethe began to suspect the existence of what he referred to as the “Urpflanze,” a primordial plant from which all others had been derived. A single plant which displays the combination of all later mutations of evolved species.
