An explanation on why Big Walk isn't available on Xbox. bigwalk.game/xbox

Regarding Xbox

In June 2026 we announced that the release of Big Walk would be limited to computers, Switch 2 and PS5. Since then, we have received many messages and comments, asking about a future Xbox release. We would like to address those questions here:

We have made the decision not to release Big Walk on Xbox, in accordance with the Palestinian-led BDS (Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions) movement’s call to boycott Microsoft, and their designation of Microsoft Games (and Xbox) as a priority boycott target. If you need help understanding our motives, we would recommend reading about why Microsoft is a BDS priority target, the successes this kind of pressure has already had on Microsoft, and especially, watching this great introductory piece by People Make Games.

It has always been our intention for Big Walk to be played by groups of friends, and we know that keeping the game off Xbox runs counter to those intentions. This decision means that some people will miss out on playing Big Walk with their friends, and we understand the disappointment we’re causing. We are disappointed too.

We would love for people to be able to play the game on Xbox, but not until Microsoft and/or Xbox have been removed as BDS boycott targets.

We’ve made this decision with the belief that meaningful change can be made in the world, that coordinated collective action can confront even the most powerful interests, and that one day, Palestine will be free.

Thank you for your understanding.

Sincerely,
House House

With the U.S. midterms rapidly approaching and early voting already underway, I feel it's important to once again send out my biwheneverly reminder that conservatism and all flavors of right-wing ideology are banned in my stream. It's incompatible with humanity, and I will keep it out.

Sketchbook painting no.57 #art #painting #watercolor #TraditionalArt

Watercolor painting on paper showing a red building at the top of a hill covered in short, dry grasses and behind several tall Southern pine trees. Three more young pines grow in the space in front of the building. In the background, an indistinct row of trees sits beneath a mostly clear sky and a three-quarters Moon showing at daytime.

Sketchbook painting no.59 #art #painting #watercolor #TraditionalArt

Watercolor painting on paper showing an open-walled garage with two substructures. Various ill-defined detritus litters the ground underneath the main roof. The roof appears to be a red-colored metal. In the foreground, a road leads into the base of the building, and surrounding it are tall, thin trees sitting amidst low grasses.

Speaking of, the mass scale on the far left is being given in terms of solar masses (the mass of our Sun). That's what M-sub-circle stands for.

110

OtterSparx | θΔ 🦦 | ☀️🌕 | 🔜 FWA @ottersparx.bsky.social · 13/10/2026

Apparently GeV is giga electron-volts, so the scale on the right *is energy and they're doing a direct correlation between energy and mass with the three mass scales given.

110

OtterSparx | θΔ 🦦 | ☀️🌕 | 🔜 FWA @ottersparx.bsky.social · 13/10/2026

Oh, I just spotted another one that I know offhand CMB = cosmic microwave background Usually that's given in terms of energy, but here it appears to be getting posited as mass. Which, mass and energy are certainly two sides of the same coin, but still odd to see it here.

110

OtterSparx | θΔ 🦦 | ☀️🌕 | 🔜 FWA @ottersparx.bsky.social · 13/10/2026

I'm not familiar with all of them myself, actually. Some of the ones I *do recognize are SMBH = supermassive black hole PBH = primordial black hole QG = quantum gravity aside from that, I'm just a regular math guy, lol

110

OtterSparx | θΔ 🦦 | ☀️🌕 | 🔜 FWA @ottersparx.bsky.social · 12/10/2026

While I'm thinking about black holes and Hawking radiation, you have my permission to blame your missing socks on quantum tunneling. It's *probably not true, but your socks are *very powerful.

030

OtterSparx | θΔ 🦦 | ☀️🌕 | 🔜 FWA @ottersparx.bsky.social · 12/10/2026

Which makes sense, since that's also how volume scales, but there are some exceptions: namely that line of black holes, since their masses only scale with radius itself, not with the cube, which is also why we have that hard upper band of forbidden values.

130

OtterSparx | θΔ 🦦 | ☀️🌕 | 🔜 FWA @ottersparx.bsky.social · 12/10/2026

On a log log graph, a constant slope means the two quantities are related by a power of the x-axis quantity. So basically this is saying, for most objects in the universe, mass scales with the cube of radius (as the slopes are uniformly 3).

130

OtterSparx | θΔ 🦦 | ☀️🌕 | 🔜 FWA @ottersparx.bsky.social · 12/10/2026

This is my new favorite graph, I think. A chart of everything in the observable universe, plotted by the logs of their same-volume-sphere radii and the logs of their masses. Devised by Lineweaver and Patel Fun fact: each axis being logarithmic is why everything seems to sort neatly into bands.

A graph of universal objects plotted according to the log of their same-volume-sphere radii on the x-axis and the log of their mass on y-axis. There is a central slope-3 band that includes animals and most common celestial bodies including stars. On the right is another slope-3 band of stellar superstructures including galaxies. At the top is a large band that says "Forbidden by Gravity" with a lower line labeled "Black Holes." At the bottom is a line labeled "Compton Limit", below which is a band labeled "Quantum Uncertainty."
