I don't often commend republicans, but Michael Crider worked hard to push for a needle exchange program, prove that it works & when it came time for renewal, Mike Braun tried to stop it. Still, it got pushed through because it's not a partisan thing. It just makes sense.

My dad had a lot of friends. I watched him suffer to help them. Most skipped his funeral. There were two guys I never recall meeting before. One went to school with him, one was in the marines with him. They knew so much about me, had pictures of my sister & I. It was jarring.

There is this book series I'm trying to read because the story is extremely well crafted. But the casual use of slurs to refer to the 3 non white characters is really killing my vibe because even the "good" characters do it. It's not even mentioned as bad. It just repeatedly happens.
