I've designed and am trying to mass produce fans for cr-box style air purifiers, which are far far quieter for greater airflow than the usual box fans. About 10% more flow for 1/220 the noise energy (24 db). Www.bigquietfan.com

The government is also, as we reported yesterday, separating children from families in the interior, labeling them "unaccompanied," putting them in shelters, and using payments and coercive memos to get them to give up their legal rights and leave the country.

ICE is now separating children from their parents and deeming them “unaccompanied.”

Those are crappy ervs. Don't bother with those. The Panasonic intellibalance is better. I've also designed one that is about three times as good. This thing where they try to calculate the averages makes zero sense. Nobody cares about the crappy options. Also I'm assuming good ventilation.

OpenERV @openerv.bsky.social · 09/10/2026
Yeah, where are the calculations so we can verify that? Because I've made detailed spreadsheets with actual on the ground costs. They also probably didn't even check solar thermal or ervs.

OpenERV @openerv.bsky.social · 09/10/2026
Even without incentives. The cost of gas is surprisingly close, 13 cents per kwh vs 16 or so.

Dude you need to get rid of Trump and what led to his rise to power.

Heat pumps are pretty awesome but solar thermal is definitely better. So are ervs. Better roi, whether it's dollars or kWh you are after. I'm a way this is just politics, then. I mean it's good that it's kind of aligning with what really matters but it also isn't, is it. Not very well.

Have you heard of ervs? A good erv has a return on investment about 20 times higher than a residential pv panel in Ontario. Also considerably better than heat pumps.

Yeah, that coughing and "something going around" discussions is COVID. That nice low summer is over. Toronto's wastewater viral load is showing a consistent upward trend in COVID-19 and nearly zero levels of influenza A & B and RSV. wwater.ca/Ontario/Toro...
Most recent wastewater virus levels for Toronto, with date ending week ending September 27, 2026, showing a clear upward trend in COVID-19 and minimal for influenza and RSV.

Interesting to see someone well versed in it say so. I think it is however a symptom of a larger and deeper problem, mainly excessive influence in the hands of a relatively small number of people. This is arguably an outgrowth of the rest of us being kind of disorganized...

But they are decieved, just on a deep level. We know this because it is bad for them. If they want it it must be because they believe it is good. This is not an accident, it is deliberately arranged. So it is deception.

Why hasn't there been a revolution yet against this bs... I'm ready when everyone else is.

Why would anyone bother developing this stuff when regular air filters can do the same thing. Also plasma will inevitably produce ozone unfortunately, otherwise electrostatic precipitators would be awesome.

My main focus is transmissible disease, which disease causing particles are very hard to detect so all we can really do is say x cfm per person with good mixing gives y reduction in transmission with assumptions xyz very approximate of course but better than nothing, gotta make decisions.

If it's being created inside the room, that may have implications for its nature. Mere skin cells or something perhaps. Or exhaled crap.

OpenERV @openerv.bsky.social · 02/10/2026
Btw I have to wonder where all those particles are coming from, and their nature. If equilibrium is achieved, they must be being removed as fast as they are released. If that much outdoor air is coming in, it must be being pumped in, so filtering it on the way in might work better.

Another one to add to the list of studies of CR boxes! The supplemental data includes inferred CADR for each unit deployed as well as sound pressure measurements in two classrooms at several distances.

Hey David, I didn't realize you were in Canada. Why don't we talk? I'm the guy doing the big quiet fan, the deis box was an advance too and we could combine them. Always lots to do. The bqf works way way better 55dBa at 1 meter is a lot, 450 cfm is not enough. I can do 1000 CFM for 41.5dBa

I wonder how many they murdered before that point. I'm generally not a fan of fighting back in that way but the us does it a hell of a lot more and giving that a miss is not reasonable.

I wonder how many people the us killed on exactly the same day. And before and after. And on average. If they murdered 4.5 million since then, the average per day is quite high. Where are the lights for them?

And where is the picture of the Iranians that were murdered *today* by the american gov, with the support of a large fraction of the American population.

The story that struck me the most was how the us murdered 4.5 million people since then in wars of aggression etc.

Dolly Parton seems awesome but I hope she would agree, given her political efforts, that hero and celebrity are not good for the cause of justice or indeed almost anything, in general. Remember the enormous number of invaluable women who toil for the benefit of all without a shred of fame.

Hm well out where the money goes. If the cost of production is the cause of the increased prices, then the investors don't pocket the increases. However you are probably right that that is not the case here. If we have to pick the lesser of two evils though, better to save the planet.

On 9/11, US airspace closed, Canada launched Operation Yellow Ribbon. Gander, a town of 10,000, received 38 airliners. Residents immediately sheltered, fed, clothed, and supported stranded passengers for days, providing this hospitality free of charge. interestingengineering.com/culture/oper...

Ok so there was a giant pile of blah blah social commentary, is there any actual science here? Reduce pm from this to that, get that. That's what we need to know. I already know about how the rich people are duping everyone and shit and you can't always just harp on that forever.

That may be the details of the mechanism, but it does not explain why sheer actual reality testing does not overcome these psychological biases people have. I mean there are a million such lines of reasoning people use that end up in the wrong place. They used to do nothing else, till science.

After all this time, people still have not even begun to clue in to the reality not only of climate change but more critically the underlying causes of the inaction to address it. The ruling class maintains their grip on both the bodies and minds of the great majority.

I've very nearly run out of stuff to do on the bqf project. We should have started making the molds five months ago or something. I've been able to work around that but it hasn't been very efficient. In maybe two weeks I'll really be reduced to complete waiting.

So many issues, so severe. Total overhaul is needed. We need to come together and discuss the crap out of things and then push through major, major overhaul. Not keep frittering around at the margins playing whackamole. Occupy style assemblies are in order.

The idea of what their job is is also severely messed up here. Frankly the idea they are our servants however is a propaganda bs idea unfortunately. They "should" be, however reality is extremely fast from that and always has been. They want our lives because they are valuable.
