This is not a bee! But they are in Hymenoptera, the same order as ants, bees, and wasps. This is some species of hairy-clubhorn sawfly (Trichiosoma sp.) Sawflies are named that because they have a saw-like ovipositor that they use to lay eggs inside of plants. #entomology #MacroPhotography

I would also consider creating an intricate mask of @alexhorne.bsky.social to make him an enemy of the crows. But maybe that would be going to far, considering he has to keep working near the flock, and crows hold grudges.

Glacial Heritage Preserve, south of Olympia, Washington! Is is only open to the public on the second Saturday of May each year, but hosts volunteer restoration days most Tuesdays. On the historic (and occupied) lands of the Chehalis, Cowlitz, and Nisqually tribes.
