I’ve been critical of Kroger since they started their pricing slight-of-hand with the “this item is 60% off…but only if you buy 10 boxes” and flat-out deceptive signage but using FACIAL REC to spike pricing is beyond evil. Fuck these guys sideways. What a bunch of slimy profiteering scumbags. 🤬

I feed the birds, rabbits, squirrels, etc in our urban back yard & enjoy seeing all the species that come through. I was shocked though today to see a HAWK perched on a patio chair just feet from the back door. We accidentally startled him & he took off before I could get a pic. So beautiful! 😍

The happiest point of this week was discovering a new bird has come to live around our yard. This male Eastern Towhee joins about 9 other species I feed. I’m really burning through the feed this week with 10” of snow on the ground. In related news: blue jays are pushy little feathered pigs. 😄

Look. I know there are so many MUCH worse things happening everywhere, but I was in PetSmart this morning & we’re still doing this to Betas? I know they’re fish & not puppies or even chickens but this is so damn cruel. About half of the fish in this display were dead. Who does this benefit? WHY??

A large, spoiled pure white cat lounges in a rope baby basket set on a wooden basket holder. Under him is a small handmade quilt of soft pastel colors with a dark pink binding. The quilt was made for him because when his mom was making a larger baby quilt for a gift she couldn’t keep his ass off of it, so she used the leftovers to make a smaller version for him.
