I don’t wear a tinfoil hat most days, but I’d bet this was the plan all along. First time we heard of a screens on a fridges my hubs said ‘nobody’s going to use that (as in the calendar apps etc). I replied ’they don’t care, they’re going to push commercials to it’. Just surprised it took this long.

Conversely, the kids can tell her what they really like (and her kids aren’t getting junk food). There’s an added layer of care when a kid sees you’ve refilled their favorite breakfast bars or fruit cups.

I have a friend who is an elementary teacher in a particularly poor district in Virginia. For years she‘d had a pantry of finger foods & snacks, it’s been hugely positive for the kids. We friends had her set up an Amazon wish list, now we all point-click-ship to fill her pantry and grumbly tummies.

Our 30YO daughter has lived 1K miles away from us for a decade. We moved to southern Ohio 2 years ago, our 3rd move in 5 years. Last year voter reg info addressed to her at our current home was delivered. She had only stepped foot in Ohio twice, to visit us. At least not a total stranger, but 🤷🏼‍♀️

OMIGOSH she looks so much like my girl! Gone a year & a half but still missed like a limb. ❤️

A sweet but sassy tiger striped tabby cat with white socks and yoke is laying on a brown couch. There is a tv remote sticking out from under her. The look on her face suggests she is having a moment of attitude. This would be correct, as she is so peeved that her male human wouldn’t let her sit in his lap that she sought out the remote and laid down on it so he couldn’t find it. The only reason the remote can be seen in the pic is that the female human saw this all go down & attempted to retrieve the remote from under the cat. The female human received a furry slap on the hand as an indicator to ‘mind your own business’.

Oh wow. I was 9 years old & saved up my babysitting cash to buy my first album, Manilow’s This One’s For You, a fan was born. His music spoke to my soul even that young. I can still sing along with those songs note-perfect; I feel those big can headphones & smell my folks’ living room when I do. 🙂

A large, pure white cat stands on a brown wood floor looking up at the camera. He’s perfectly normal-looking until you get to his back half. He had recently had surgery on his right hip so the thick, white fur on the entire back right quarter of his body was shaved, a ways over the left side of his spine and including the base of his tail. It was a precision shave job and the contrast between the rest of his white fluff and that swath of rosy pink skin is pretty funny-looking.
