Weekend discoveries on Sauchiehall Street in Glasgow: an actual Police Box and the incredibly beautiful Charles Rennie Mackintosh-designed tearooms

A blue-painted police box on Sauchiehall Street in Glasgow. Couldn't get in it to check whether it was in fact bigger on the inside.

A detail of the beautiful metal and glass railings on the gallery level of the tearooms. The attached exhibition is free to NTS/NT members and the tearooms are reasonably priced and quite spectacularly genteel and civilised.

Just two of the 19 spans of the magnificent Pontcysyllte Aqueduct in the Vale of Llangollen, Wales. This grand structure carries the Llangollen Canal from one side of the valley to the other, over the River Dee. 307m long, it reaches 39m above the valley floor. #AlphabetChallenge #WeekGForGrand
