I would expect nothing less than the respectable, regulation number: "lots, but still good". I had a thermarest self-inflater for years and years that I had to retire because the materials started to fall apart; it was more patch than mat by the end. See also: every down jacket I've ever owned 😁

I went from "cheap amazon mat" to "thickest, most durable insulated mat Exped make" as a result and couldn't be comfier. Weighs a bit but good sleep is non-negotiable for me, I get savagely grumpy without it.

I had one of those situations. Turned out the material it was made of was really poor and it was just leaking from... well, everywhere, imperceptibly, all of the time. Solution was: bought a better mat rather than a cheaper mat next time round.
