Kinda crazy that a PM ends up addressing this kind of issue when there are probably higher priorities. HOWEVER, this kind of asocial behavior is sooo annoying. When did we start not giving a f* about people around us? @mivbstib.bsky.social ? @sncb-be.bsky.social ? @delijn.bsky.social ? @letec ?

Late to this Bloomberg piece on Marc Andreessen. This is one of the key things. Andreessen is *angry* about how he has been treated, when any objective observer might note he has benefited enormously from the institutions he now purports to detest. www.bloomberg.com/news/feature...
One illustrious a16z-funded founder, who hails Andreessen as likely the “highest IQ” investor on the planet, says it never made sense why he seemed to hold such resentment toward the very institutions that helped him achieve the American dream. “It’s like, dude, you’ve made billions of dollars,” this founder says. “How can you think the government is f---ed up and everything is wrong with America when it’s obviously worked better for you than it has for all but maybe a dozen people in human history?”

Can't believe how disconnected from the world some are. Surely schools could teach basics of what services different levels of government provide. Not knowing what those taxes pay for is crazy. Same time, I can hear same people only willing to pay taxes for the services they use directly.

Anyone asking this question doesn’t understand, or doesn’t want the rest of us to understand, what property taxes are for. Obviously, your share of municipal infrastructure costs and services etc don’t end when you pay off your home. They’re as likely to rise as they are to drop. Obviously.

Strong Belgium getting close to 50% market share for BEVs ! Cheaper models, targeted policies, great charging infrastructure. Now the only thing left to do for Belgium is to just buy and use less cars, period. The cars that will necessarily remain should be BEVs. Also, tax based on weight + size
