CARE Chief Amy Barden says that in the last 6 weeks, crisis responder utilization has increased to 80%, about double the rate during the same time last year under former Mayor Harrell. Interim SPD Chief Andre Sayles says he’s been pushing rank-and-file cops to divert more calls to thd responders.

Where do state legislature candidates stand on school funding?

The Shoreline PTA Council asked candidates for the state legislature about school funding. 

No incumbents bothered to reply. But eight of the challengers answered, and the PTA published the questionnaires online for voters.

In Shoreline’s 32nd district, incumbents Senator Jesse Salomon and Representative Lauren Davis didn’t bother to respond. 

And in Lake Forest Park’s 1st LD, incumbent Representatives Shelley Kloba and Davina Duerr also didn’t bother.

Eight of the candidates who are vying for an open seat or challenging an incumbent responded: Jenne Alderks, Cindy Ryu, Chris Bloomquist, Danica Noble, Keith Scully, Lisa Rizak, Will Chen, and Imraan Siddiqi.
