It is interesting how many people connected to/invested in the tech industry are spending time today trying to gaslight people over the fall in far-right engagement on social media everyone can see for themselves.

Just saw that Asimov's Science Fiction Magazine posted this on Facebook. Looks like "AI" generated BS to me. Like we have not had SFFH magazines with cover illustrations inspired by stories for ~100 years.

I don't think it would be hard to programme an "AI" to not break laws. And, I do feel that the choice of not doing that should lead to consequences for people in the tech industry. Controlling criminals usually leads to quite hefty prison sentences.

If you work for a book publisher that has introduced AI at any point in the publishing process, I'm working on a story and would like you speak with you, on-record or off-. Same goes if you're an author and you've witnessed your publisher using AI at any point in the publishing process.

Reform got £36 million from a convicted money launderer who bribed himself to a pardon. There is something wrong with the rules if someone like that is allowed to donate money to political parties.

This is shocking to hear! Einstein kept a picture of Maxwell on his office wall and admired him more than any other scientist. Every fall I teach a whole course about his work. This is like hearing that Westminster Abbey might be purchased so a new car rental place can built on Newton’s grave.

Seems like everytime some pro "AI" tries to defend their position, all they have is tech industry PR. Mostly it is just "you have to pay for the newest models", like it's a sales pitch. And, they have been doing this since GAs went public almost four years ago. (Is it really that long?)
