We have been consulting with Arabic localization professionals and my general consensus is that Unity needs to urgently invest millions of dollars into supporting Arabic. None of it works out of the box with Text Mesh Pro and their general UI stuff. Rich tags and other things break immediately.

Thanks man, yeah I'm starting to think that's likely the cause as well and will try to check. Thing that's strange is that it seems to work in 480p mode which is also RGB so I think it might be the IC or trace that changes between 15khz and 31khz specifically?

Co-ops aren’t a leftist invention. This may be shocking to hear but it is also why they tend not to ever address the core underlying issue. This is my main takeaway from reading all this stuff. I wish them best of luck but I dont think what I read this morning is as revolutionary as it seems.

Weirdly it outputs 480p video and also still works with regular composite video. Everything outside of the 15hz (480i) for RGB output seems to work flawlessly 🤷‍♂️ My friend suggested maybe replacing the PSU just in case so I might try that but with all the caps replaced I don't think it's the cause.

Anyone have any idea why my VA1 Japanese Dreamcast would stop outputting 15hz RGB video? I reflowed the solder joints around the video out pins, replaced the caps, and cleaned the outer video connection pins which don't seem to be bent. Cable works with other DC. Must be a fuse or bad IC chip??

The cluelessness of this reminds me a lot of the NFT grift. The thing about NFTs was that it was mainly something finance bros were into, and when they were trying to worm their way into gaming, their pitches were an abyssal trench of bad ideas because they couldn't grasp why people played games.

Not sure how well this comes across in the video but spent some time last night doing maintenance on two of my N64 controllers and they feel so good! I replaced the standard bowls with steel ones and cleaned and then lubricated with silicone grease. Played through Starfox 64 on them last night 👍✨

There are more 契約社員 + outsourcing has continued to grow but in terms of big layoffs it seems to only happen in studio closures. I think keeping staff and building teams over a long time + still hiring junior staff is a huge asset. This long-term stability has and will help Japanese studios a ton!
