If you are falling into doomerism then I suggest replacing that feeling with revolutionary optimism. Even tho we may feel cooked but we are only cooked if we stay in the pot. Get organised some how. Joining PSL or DSA, A progressive church, a labor union, anything. We are stronger together.

Having the government pay college tuitions is not the same as publicly funded education. Highschools don't get to bill the government whatever they want to. Universities and tech schools do not need to generate a profit. They need to educate the people.

"Should be a school you can afford." The cheap community college in my area is still 12k for a 2 year program. In many, significantly poorer countries education is a right. Not some privladge that you have to payfor or take on debt for.
