Gah! Cambridge does so many things well. Finally made it over to see the new parking protected bike lanes on Broadway! So good!! I used to bike this a ton when I lived just off Broadway in 2019. This is so much safer and better now! 👏👏👏

I appreciate the city’s transparency and the efforts of DTM but this Is so bad (I doubt they’d disagree). Our real problem is most of our council who are car brained and will sacrifice any number of people if it means keeping the status quo and helping people get across the city 30 seconds faster 😡

The issue as always is parking. But if this project gets derailed over a reduction of 9 parking spaces that would be just unforgivable. & of course, this includes a protected bike lane which will set off the reactionary councilors because they're insistent on keeping you in car dependency prison.

In SF so I have tried a Waymo. Tech is very impressive. They obeyed the traffic laws better than virtually all human drivers. That said, it’s not the solution. It’s not a public transit replacement. Cars are simply too expensive and space inefficient.

Use of coal for electricity has shrunk 6% in the last decade. He's probably got 20-30 years left and solar is accelerating. His statement seems highly unlikely to be accurate (needless to say), and it's ignoring the plummeting use of coal.

[Worcester only post] Nu seating at Nu kitchen! I kinda liked the dark leather banquettes in that section but they were pretty beat up. Always nice seeing folks able to find fixing things. 🙂
