@garland @ericacbarnett.bsky.social 25% of Seattle's population according to "a March 2026 survey", he says. Seems legit [jk]

Post from Ansel Herz on Bluesky.
"Good question. Around a quarter of Seattle-area adults (769,000 people) use X according to a March 2026 survey. I still call it Twitter though"

@ericacbarnett.bsky.social Ansel Herz was asked (on Bluesky) why he is posting on X. He said because some crazy hundreds of thousands of Seattlites are still on X. But they will only leave if people like the Mayor and her press people stop posting there. (Posted from Mastodon)

@NaClKnight I'm not kidding at all. You're deep in with bell hooks with this. We're still in a world where people occasionally maimed by the explosives at gender reveal parties.

Raising a newborn baby is the closest I've ever come to "gender is a construct" A baby has no gender. They're all shaped like babies. My baby doesn't care about the color of their clothes or toys People assign a gender when greeting my kid and apologize if that greeting doesn't match their sex

My unpopular opinion is that middle management is necessary and that makes almost everything work better and shitting on middle management for yucks discourages people trying trying to do it and to learn do it well.

We're on a layover in Dallas Ft Worth. There are hilariously awful attack ads against Talarico. It's encouraging. That must mean he has a real chance at winning.

We post a selfie of our 3M Aura-mask wearing selves to a few friends who also always wear masks to fly every time we travel by plane. It helps. We are, as usual, the only people wearing functional masks on this plane. So please imagine here a selfie of two white middle aged people seated on an […]

Do you, reader, know who is behind the giant "Depopulation Agenda" paste-ups all over #Seattle? What I found online is just a lot about a whacked conspiracy theory. The posters look like whoever is behind them has real money.

Voting is an awesome thing to report here because nobody can discover who I am here and have any basis or reason to mess with my life. The other stuff? Eh.

[Bend school shooting] @sarae I'm curious to know your own thoughts. My impression, probably wrong, is that I'd be more likely to end up in conversation with somebody deep in gun culture were I living in southern Oregon. I work with people steeped in gun culture but we don't talk about guns […]

[Bend school shooting] @sarae I'm several levels removed but my impression has been that gun culture really really wants to perpetuate itself and my impression, probably wrong, is that this drive floods out the parts of people's brains that might raise red flags.
