The Washington State Republican Party's devolution into a Trump-worshiping, extremist cult started decades ago. Consider this piece of evidence from the turn of the century, when Republican delegates backed a resolution to terminate tribal governments. Really: web.archive.org/web/20000902...

Apparently Brandi Kruse figures that since Donald Trump is doing it, it'll work for her: "I will be tireless in my pursuit of retribution" A truly unhinged rant... Note: Video edited, captions added in case you don't want to turn the volume on, and soundtrack added in case you do, 'cause why not?

Thanks for the correction on ballot ordering, but note that the lot drawing is also for the general: "If no primary is required, the names shall appear on the general election ballot in the order determined by lot." Jessica had been listed first on the Top Two ballot, so the ordering won't change.

Hey followers: Do you have screenshots of tweets of Brandi Kruse saying she's not a journalist? We'll take any you have, because Let's Go Washington's lawyer is telling the PDC: "Kruse has never represented to LGW (or to the public that LGW is aware of) that she is or was anything but a journalist."

Exactly. Also, there was an extremely impatient reporter - apparently KIRO 7's Heather Bosch - who interrupted Mayor Wilson right as she was about to start sharing details to demand that she start sharing details, which ironically caused a further tiny delay in sharing details. Totally unnecessary.

And so it was that the commissioner "summoned all the editors in his district to meet him at his new viceregal lodge in Dartmouth Library and receive the precious privileged information as to how much President Windrip and his subordinate commissioners admired the gentlemen of the press." (Ch. XVI)

Jim Walsh loves to lie. The 2026 Washington State Democratic Convention wasn't "hijacked." It was a democratic Democratic gathering, with the platform recommended by the Platform Committee largely adopted as drafted. Meanwhile, Republican Chair Walsh chickened out of holding a convention this year.

The million dollar earners tax is in fact limited to people who make over a million dollars a year. Not those who *have* a million, but *make* a million... which, in practical terms, means around 20,000 of the richest people in the state. The limitation on who pays is inherent in the design:

If you're looking at candidate filings on kingcounty.gov and wondering why didn't Hannah Sabio-Howell and Jamie Pedersen file, know that they actually did so on Monday, but for some reason, they're only in the state's system and King County isn't showing them yet. They will be on the ballot! #waleg

He isn't going to "pay his respects." It is so tiring that after all that has happened, reporters and editors continue to put out stuff like this. They *know* Trump is a sociopath and a pathological liar and they do it anyway. They just can't meet the moment and call a spade a spade consistently.

The Republicans have invoked the Washington State Constitution at least a hundred times tonight. The Constitution explicitly gives the Legislature the power to prescribe duties for sheriffs. Nothing in 5974 is unconstitutional. Have Republicans read our plan of government? It seems they have not.

We are over four hours into this and there's no end in sight. Why? Because the House Republicans have decided to make this floor debate as painful as possible. They filed over forty amendments and they're forcing verbal roll calls on all of them. One Republican joked there's 12 hours to go. #waleg
