For most people, TTRPGs are primarily structures to hang out rather than rules-based games. This is one of the reasons people are so hesitant to switch systems - the system is already fulfilling their need to socialize and learning new rules is seen as a hurdle to overcome.

There's an emphasis on lowering preparation time for DMs, but there's a difference between the prep that's a necessary chore and the additional time you spend working with your game and your world because you enjoy it. The latter is just a more technical form of solo play.

Some of us would more than happily swap game GROUPS before swap games, had we simply better ways of getting into game groups. Some players wanna play a TTRPG first and foremost for the actual system, not for the excuse to bring the table together.

A game should be harmonious (or generate good/useful friction) with all its components working together towards a common (if not unified) goal; you should not feel like parts of the game are fighting each other unless that’s the point. You also shouldn’t easily be able to chop out rule segments.

remember in early 2000s the term pedosadism was often used to refer to the all too eager willingness of parents to use violence towards the children in their care bc parents often seem a bit too enthusiastic word has since then lost that meaning mostly, but i still think it fits

For those you don't know how this works, when a video gets copyright claimed, 100% of its revenue starts going to the claimant. The only way for a claim to be automatically removed is to trim out the claimed clip, obviously bad if the clip has original narration over it. Songs have to be muted. -R

There is no external indicator on the video itself that it has been claimed and ad revenue is no longer going to support the person who made it. But random jumps or a sudden drop in audio quality indicate that the creator has had to trim something that got claimed. -R

Content ID can only automatically detect the presence of copyrighted content. It can't and won't detect context, which means it makes zero allowances for fair use. It then alerts the copyright holder that they can claim the content in the video, and many of them immediately do so. -R

In short, any video that uses any content that the creator didn't 100% craft themself has a chance to be copyright claimed in such a way that the creator has no recourse except legal action or an edited re-upload. This is an extremely widespread problem that every YouTuber I know has suffered from.
