Peter Nolan @nuallain.bsky.social · 16/09/2026As an aside to the whole Ed Sheeran thing, multiple parties want to give Sheeran and some who've never lived in or maybe never even visited Ireland but with one Irish grandparent the right to vote in Irish Presidential elections. A timely reminder the next time that comes up of just how dumb it is. 010
Peter Nolan @nuallain.bsky.social · 14/09/2026BWAHAHA! Someone just blocked me for pointing out RTD didn't invent the "companions telepathically hear everyone speaking English" answer, because it got in the way of their rant about modern TV increasingly spoon-feeding viewers. What's that they say about altering the facts to fit your views? 030

Peter Nolan @nuallain.bsky.social · 11/09/2026Imagine being a band promoting a comeback album, and deciding to do that by adopting 'edgy' political opinions, but it turns out it just reveals 99% of people think the most relevant thing about you is a beloved actor once said he liked one of your songs. Gotta sting. 110
Peter Nolan @nuallain.bsky.social · 09/09/2026The audacity of Sky listing off Noel Clarke's various projects for other channels, and completely failing to mention that when this all came out he was in a co-production partnership with *them.* 042

Peter Nolan @nuallain.bsky.social · 29/08/2026Every now and then I'm reminded of Swear Trek's epic, gifing every scene of Spock's Brain, but in the captions replacing every instance of "brain" in the script, with this one word. And every time, it makes me happy. 031
Peter Nolan @nuallain.bsky.social · 27/08/2026Today I learned that a recording of the Curry/McKellan Amadeus exists, but the New York City Library which holds it, doesn't allow viewings, which kind of sucks. (Up there with the BFI having a recording of Tom Baker's acting debut in their vault, which they've never screened.) 021

Peter Nolan @nuallain.bsky.social · 10/08/2026After the weekend I'm starting to wonder if covid has permanently altered people's crowd perception. Lots of posts online about how "packed" and "jammed" Dublin Comic Con was, even as they show video of pretty well spaced folks behind them as proof. And I'm not dismissing their experience, just 1/2 120

Peter Nolan @nuallain.bsky.social · 03/08/2026Argh, I am indeed compelled to do the whole list... The James Bond Theme. Okay, taking this to represent Dr. No. No lyrics, obviously, but even without the title the message of Bond's swagger and danger couldn't be clearer. But it's not specifically about this story. 220
Peter Nolan @nuallain.bsky.social · 22/07/2026Hopefully the fact that Strictly Come Dancing is now also out to tender will help reassure Doctor Who fans that it's simply a new due diligence requirement (effectively, BBC Studios can't automatically proceed without checking there isn't a better pitch), rather than a lack of will to make it. 010
Peter Nolan @nuallain.bsky.social · 20/07/2026Spent my lunch hour today in the un-air conditioned gym in work, while every blade of grass in a 50km radius is dying of heat stroke because... because... Peter Nolan @nuallain.bsky.social · 27/06/2026Supergirl is a true, brilliant, fun ride. Strangely reminiscent of Capaldi era Doctor Who in its questioning of what it means to be a good person. The whole cast are on fire, the jokes get laughs, and the action is pure comic book while always being clear and exciting. But mostly, it has *heart.* 121

Peter Nolan @nuallain.bsky.social · 10/06/2026One thing I will say: back in 2003 I was happily predicting 13 years of new Doctor Who, and some were calling me a foolish optimist.
