You might have noticed us soft launching our new logo around Eurocon and LA Worldcon, and we are very excited to share our new logo with everyone! After much discussion and deliberation, based on the original art by Shevaun Frazier, we have our new logo!
A photo of JC and Matylda stood together at the Dublin party at Eurocon. JC is a white man wearing a foam hat shaped like a block of yellow Swiss cheese. He is also wearing a dark blue Dublin 2029 tshirt. It has the new Dublin 2029 logo. It is a stylised lower case ‘d'. Within the circle of the letter is a drawing of a light blue planet with small craters, surrounded by stars. Below it reads 'DUBLIN 2029’. Matylda is a white woman with dark hair tied back, and is wearing read rimmed glasses, and a black tshirt over a red long sleeved top and blue trousers.

While most people in Ireland, especially in Dublin, speak English, the first national language is actually Irish! It’s probably very different from any languages you’re familiar with because it doesn’t descend from any Germanic, Romance or Slavic languages and can have some scary-looking spellings
Light grey text across the top reads ‘Irish Word of the Month’. Below, in larger white text it reads ‘Éire’ with ‘AIR-eh’ below. In the bottom right corner is a light blue planet, from the Dublin 2029 logo and black stars are scattered across the image. The background is light blue.

We’ve been hitting the streets (our Discord server) to ask our volunteers about how they got into convention volunteering and what it is that keeps bringing them back for more! Declan was the Fringe Division Administrator for Dublin 2019, and now he’s joined the Promotions team for Dublin 2029 🧵

Arrived in Belfast after a wet but very smooth journey. Here just for the night for #NornCon - @norncon.bsky.social , which I'm hoping will be fun and chill and give me more opportunities to spread the word about the @dublin2029.bsky.social Worldcon bid!

This weekend is Norncon and we’re going to be there! @‌norncon.bsky.social is being held on the 8th and 9th of May in the Hilton Lanyon Place in Belfast! You can check out more about the convention here: norncon.org (1/2)
A banner with the Norncon logo. On the left is turquoise text which reads Norncon in capital letters. Below it says ‘8-9th May 2026, Hilton Lanyon Place, Belfast’. On the right is a turquoise circle with a bright purple silhouette on Northern Ireland. A flying sauce spaceship is hovering above, with a beam coming down from it to Belfast.

How to turn this into a ribbon? “Really janky fun”? “I 🩵💙 really janky things”? For anyone unaware, I am one of the co-chairs bidding to bring Worldcon back to Dublin - @dublin2029.bsky.social - so I can vouch we’re putting a lot of time and effort into this janky, volunteer-run piece of my heart.

We’d like to give an extra congratulations to all the Irish finalists and those associated with our bid that were nominated for this year’s Hugo Awards, ahead of voting opening tomorrow!
The LA worldcon Hugo Announcement banner. In large capital letters it reads '2026 Hugo, Lodestar, and Astounding Awards Finalists'. On the top left is the Hugo logo, a light a dark grey stylised rocket with the word 'Hugo Award' underneath. On the top right is the LA Worldcon logo, a red and orange eight pointed star with light blue wings, with the words LAcon V below. The background is light blue with a large cartoon rocket behind the text.

The Dublin 2029 logo superimpossed over the skyline of Dublin. The logo shows a black silhouetted figure walking over a black bridge. The bridge arcs through a portal towards a green moon-like planet. Blue abstract shapes surround the portal. The logo has a black frame with circles cut-out through it and say ‘Dublin 2029’ vertically on the right side fo the frame. The skyline is looking down the centre of the River Liffey, with buildings down either side. On the right is the Convention Centre Dublin, which has a curved glass front with a ship docked in the river in front of it.

A photo of Radek on a stage in front of a projector screen. He is a white man with brown hair and a short beard, wearing glasses and a green Dublin 2029 tshirt. On the projector screen behind him is a slide that says ‘Sierra Space’ next to a green bipedal reptilian alien in a lab coat.
