In another sense so much of modern technology, AI included, is powered by "free software" built by people who I don't think put in those hours for the sake of owners, no matter how it turned out. I think that both spirits are still alive, but the former is much noisier in this moment.

In a sense yes - "developers, developers, developers" have always been overpaid and overvalued in this industry, and Silicon Valley has always attracted these types. But as that dynamic shifts and developers are no longer the gatekeepers to the means of production, class consciousness can develop.

Regarding "The Discourse" that seems to have emerged, I think that anyone who watches this movie and concludes that Boravia is Israel is telling on themselves. Boravia, the fictional nation, is literally older than Israel (1939) and I felt was much more Russia-coded in the film.
