I had one(1) tiny bag of ss8 rhinestones mailed to me in the BIGGEST MAILING ENVELOPE EVER. Why is shmamazon like this. (Cause it's shmamazon, ofc, but like, what a waste to not have waited and sent the whole order together from the same retailer)

Lunar Queen, star supreme, cocoon me with a pleasant dream. ♡ #art #mermay #mermaids

An illustrated piece of art featuring a celestial star themed mermaid. She is resting, a hand gracefully placed against her cheek while the other cradles a glowing crescent moon. She sits in an oversized skeleton hand, tail coiled around the forearm bones. 🎨✨

I've got two shows in October and I already feel behind. So. Much. Choreography. (And costuming tbh but I really only need to make one outfit)

Seeing some of my fave "big-name" artists on BSKY joking that they might have to stoop to making erotic art to make a living has me miffed. Erotic art has A) been artistic subject matter in all time periods and cultures, and B) Erotic artists are ALWAYS at the front of threats against the arts.

Kickstarter officially banning adult content now. Knew this was coming, but it still sucks to have yet another part of the internet that I've been explicitly evicted from. Digital gentrification is exhausting.

Screenshot of Kickstarter's new rules against mature content, in which everything pornographic is banned. It's a long document that's formatted in a way that I can't copy and paste all the text that's in it, but the first is that all point and anything sexual is now banned.

This part of the document outlines how even self censoring your own work will not work, because even the implication of sex is too much. Even in prose works.

This document is confusing because it says that erotic comics ARE allowed... you just can't show sex acts or genitals or try to arouse people. Also you can make sex toys, just so long as they're not for sexual gratification.

This is how Kickstarter's email began:

"Hello,
Kickstarter has always been a home for bold, boundary-pushing creative work, including mature content projects like romance novels, nude art books, and provocative comics. Creators working in this space are a valued part of our community, and that hasn’t changed." And yet it definitely has changed.

One thing that burlesque has taught me is how many bodies can be incredibly sexy. Not just movie/model ones. It's freeing. And yup, it really comes down to joy, confidence, & attitude. If a performer *believes* they're hot, audiences absolutely believe it too because they are!
