A mother, a Minnesotan, a US citizen was killed today by ICE. The video shows my friend & fellow physician being denied trying to give her care. ICE allowed her to die without help… This is a god damn travesty and injustice happening on our streets… #MedSky www.huffpost.com/entry/ice-sh...

This cure for sickle cell anemia was made possible by NIH-funded research to turn the gene for fetal hemoglobin back on. It was done predominantly by NIH researchers, including intramural researchers on the NIH campus. irp.nih.gov/catalyst/33/...

The U.S. healthcare industry is worth $4.8 trillion and healthcare spending per person was about $14,423 in 2023. Tell me again how we can't have universal healthcare in the U.S.

Honey, stop what you're doing, new hyponatremia research just dropped! What's it say? It looks like slow correction is associated with worse outcomes, like death and length of stay! Was it just a small study? No, it was a meta-analysis of almost 12,000 patients! jamanetwork.com/journals/jam...

Your body is a temple, my body is a starship with a warp core breach imminent, shields at 11%, breaches on decks 5, 9 and 11, emergency force fields in place, structural integrity down to 6 percent, impulse engines offline, emergency power only, can't take another hit like that; we are not the same.

Aw jeez, not this again. According to this consultant, hospitals now *lose* an average of $304,312 per physician per year. 🤦🏻‍♂️ Guess it's time for another thread on budgetary gerrymandering.
Screenshot from the Kaufman Hall “Physician Flash Report,” which asserts that the average physician “subsidy” topped $300,000 for the first time in Q3 of 2024. “The employment model where hospitals subsidize physician employment is broken and needs to change.”
