I’m not cut out for the cool History content creator/influencer life. I can’t let things lie and will challenge everything, especially where racism, xenophobia, homophobia, transphobia, Islamophobia etc is concerned. I’ll never be one who stands back and doesn’t call out genocides.

Just recorded a future ep for Untitled History Podcast with @oldenoughtosay.com. We covered medieval religion and the origins of Robin Hood in folklore. Halfway through it we had to pause because my kitchen was briefly on fire (it's fine. don't worry). Madeline's curse is transferable, apparently.

Recently, I’ve been thinking about my chronic illness and whether I should be open about it online. The one thing holding me back is the idea of looking “professional” as an academic historian. But it’s so personal to me, and I feel like it’ll really help others. All thoughts appreciated :)

A lot of history as a practice is reinterpreting stuff that is well known, but every now and then you get to research and write about stuff that is genuinely unknown or certainly little known and you feel like you're actually tangibly adding to our collective knowledge of the past. It's thrilling.
