One of the reasons for this is that the rhetorical figure of the trans child is never transfeminine. The trans girl is not a figure in the conservative lexicon because the transfeminine is a grotesquerie positioned always as a sexual threat to "real girls", and thus always adultified.

It is the latest development in a story ignited by a comment made by Indiana Fever player Sophie Cunningham, who said she wanted to protect young girls "who shouldn't have to go against biological men" in sport.

Corporate pride is one of those "measure not goal" things. Yes, it's indicative of where the culture's at and you'd rather it be present than not. No, it's not particularly advantageous to queer communities in and of itself. Yes, the signalling is often used to obfuscate their complicity in harm.
