I'll miss these birds. Safe travels, friends! #migration #birds
A tall wading bird with yellow legs and long sharp beak is striding purposefully through shallow water.Elegant black grebe with white throat, red eye and long sharp yellow beak is floating in profile on glassy lake surface.Brown duck with rusty head and bright iridescent green patch on its face is floating on gently rippled water lit by afternoon sun.Distant view of five huge white swans all yelling while swimming on a lake in front of a curtain of reeds and cattails. There are a few other smaller birds mixed in with them - probably coots and at least one duck.

I have been inside 129 Illinois public libraries and don’t think I’ve ever seen anything like this in Sterling: three-story stacks with glass floors to let in more light, original to the 1904 Carnegie building.

Haven't seen a Blue Jay in about a week. Decided to put out the bird feeders since it's fall. I filled the peanut wreath, turned around to close the shed door, turned back and ---- BAM 🤣😂. How do they know??! 😂 #birds
Blue and grey and black bird with a blue crest is gripping a green metal peanut wreath style feeder. Bird has a big peanut in its beak and looks very pleased with itself.

Now’s a good time for visiting cemeteries in early evening — while you still can. St. Boniface and Calvary will start closing earlier (5 instead of 7 p.m.) after Oct. 15. And I’m told Graceland will start closing earlier (4 instead of 6 p.m.) after Oct. 22.
