I suppose the only way to find out what was actually achieved by this is to look at what they actually do about it when China shrugs and continues in exactly the same way?

We all know this and this conversation has now got precious little to do with the original post. We will most likely have different thoughts about whether or not communism is the practical answer to anything or just the opposite end of the horseshoe.

The thing is that such people use empty promises and over time invariably deteriorates to quickly totalitarianism. And even if you might not agree with that, citing some temporary outlier, the example at hand was the intellectual heirs of Bolshevik thugs as the pic shows.

Not really going into that discussion with you. Totalitarianism is quite apt for this particular nugget of insight. The particular brand shown here is communism.

There will be no Europe there. There will be no ”deals”. Ukraine will attempt to ride it out without jeopardising Starlink support. Then the war will continue until Russia falls apart, just as it has always done historically.

AI is now the biggest investment in all of US history as a percentage of GDP. Datacenter construction is up, all other construction is down. "AI Is Squeezing Out the Rest of the Stock Market," reported WSJ 2 days ago. We basically bet the whole economy on the most optimistic visions panning out.

Sanctions and diplomatic ostracism only grew after the Lukashenko regime aided Russia's war against Ukraine by allowing Russian forces to use Belarusian territory for an assault against Kyiv in 2022. Now, channels to the West seem to have opened up again.

While corruption can exist anywhere, the Russian brand of corruption is something special indeed. I recommend googling ”krysha” for starters. Then perhaps going down the historical rabbit hole towards the Mongol influence. Most of the old Russian empire, like Ukraine, inherited this.

The debate in Denmark about this deal is whether the US got anything at all, or if it's all just a reconfirmation of things that were already established. It says something about how little Trump has achieved when people can't even identify the new stuff with certainty.
