This is what happens you have a whole generation of kids that grew up with Mario games that looked like this.

Now that Nintendo is embracing the "classic mario" aesthetic, more YouTubers need to become familiar with the names Yoichi Kotabe and Shigehisa Nakaue. Kotabe solidified the 2D Mario look in the late 80s and early 90s, and Nakaue has been carrying that torch in newer games.

I hate when people say that Nintendo lost its touch or doesn't have soul or creativity anymore because they are still clearly very creative when it comes to games. The Mario franchise specifically has been the most creative it has been in over 15 years.

I know I’m shaking over DK redesign, but I won’t lie, this might be one of my favorite Mario models. Gives me a bit of N64 vibes.

My poor, tortured heart is at ease any time I see a device that still has a 3.5 headphone jack 🥲

That one time I felt like modifying Sonic's model in SA1

My SADX mod with a Sonic redesign, aimed to be more classic. Got asked a few times if I was trying to restore it to his prototype model, but honestly, it's just how I normally draw Sonic.

Super Mario 64 contains a painting texture that is an extremely low resolution image of Jim Carrey's "The Mask", however this painting does not appear anywhere in game. Below is an example of how it may have looked if it were implemented.

nobody wants a cool flaming sword as their cursor anymore not because it stopped being cool but because we've been conditioned to think anything offering us a cool flame sword cursor is going to hurt us by stealing our data and that's how capitalism sucks the joy out of everything around us
