Watching “straight” women realize they’re gay never gets old.

Why is it that every police department seems to wish it was a protection racket instead?

Hold up, I’m getting word that it *could* have been the ghost of Lyndale Ave Future that did it (also has a bike lane). But my money is on Hennepin Ave. That bikeway killed a close friend of mine’s used Ben Wa Balls boutique—and I definitely did not make that up for the purposes of this argument.

I just want you to know that if anyone asks, the Hennepin Ave Bikeway killed French Meadow in Minneapolis. People will try to tell you Hennepin Ave is blocks away from French Meadow, and entirely unrelated. Don’t let them. We all know it’s true.

I actually strongly dislike their Oatmeal Stout 😂—which is funny because I love oatmeal stouts more generally.

The lesbian version of being forced to sleep on the couch due to garbage behavior is choosing to sleep on the couch in a potentially futile attempt to avoid catching your partner’s cold.

I homebrewed for over 15 years, so yeah it’s pretty involved. Not necessarily “pro” but close enough for home use.

I’m too busy to keep up with my brewing hobby. Anyone in the Twin Cities want to take advantage of this fact by buying my six tap kegerator and/or kegs? You could be the coolest mom (or dad, or person) on your block—with 6 different types of root beer on tap (or other beverages).
A six-tap Komos Kegerator, with stainless steel front and tap “tee.” It’s in fantastic shape, and worth your hard earned dollars. The back of Nissa’s Komos kegerator showing off an LED light strip that really classes it up, and a back-mounted CO2 canister and dual body regulator. The inside of Nissa’s Kegerator, with ball lock fittings and brass manifolds/shutoffs for the CO2 lines.Eight 5 gallon nsf certified ball lock kegs and two 2.5 gallon ball lock kegs. They’re in phenomenal condition, and all purchased new by Nissa as recently as last year.

And jesus, I don’t even like ride share. I think it’s a stopgap that prevents us from fixing our dang transit networks. But god damn, I can’t help but be annoyed at (likely) middle-income desk job dweebs white-knighting for companies that make their money by exploiting poor folks.

Arguing with a guy on Reddit who thinks ride share drivers making $25/hr is absurd and we might as well mandate they make $1,000/hr for how absurd it is—meanwhile the total compensation for Uber’s CEO in 2025 amounted to about $17,000/hr.

This last point obviously applies across a lot of topics. Race, gender, religion, class, etc. When you don't talk to your kids about things—especially "tough" things—don't be surprised when someone else uses that opportunity to provide them with biased or bigoted information.
0171
Nissa Mitchell @nissamitchell.com · 23/09/2026
Silence on queer and trans folks from parents serves the same purpose as withholding information from kids always serves: control and manipulation. If you're lucky, your kids will be sheltered, naïve, and oblivious. If you're less lucky, you'll find you held space for bigotry to take root.

Nissa Mitchell @nissamitchell.com · 23/09/2026
You're not going to turn your kid gay, or trans, or nonbinary because you told them that gay, trans, or nonbinary people exist. You're not going to make them anxious or confused. In fact, you'll probably make them the opposite—confident in showing you who they are, and in accepting others.

Nissa Mitchell @nissamitchell.com · 23/09/2026
Talking to a child about the fact that their body will change during puberty is no different from talking to a child about the fact that some people get help from doctors to change their bodies. It's just information. Knowledge. A bit of additional language for things they might not have names for.
1140
Nissa Mitchell @nissamitchell.com · 23/09/2026
Anything you'd say about a cishet person to a child can be said about a queer or trans person, too. "Having a mommy and a daddy" is no different in age appropriateness from kids "having a mommy and a mommy." "Boys and girls" is no more appropriate than "trans boys, trans girls, and nonbinary kids."
1171
Nissa Mitchell @nissamitchell.com · 23/09/2026
I continue to be amazed at the number of well-meaning cishet parents who believe that discussing the existence of queer or trans folks isn't appropriate before a certain age—as if we don't discuss and expose kids to cis and heterosexual things from the moment they're born without issue.

“Not all men” is really annoying because while most of the time it’s said by a mediocre cishet man who deserves all the derision possible, sometimes it’s said by an earnest and kind trans woman in deep denial—and you often don’t know for sure until a couple years later.

RABID BAT FOUND ON SIDEWALK
On Tuesday, September 15 at about 12pm, a bat was found on the sidewalk on Hennepin Ave between N. Washington Ave and N 3°St.
The bat died and was sent for rabies testing. This bat tested positive for
rabies.
A woman was seen crouching by the bat and putting it into a bag. She was described as a 25-to-30-year-old white woman, about 5'5", with curly brown hair and a curly-haired golden retriever-like dog. If this was you, please call 911 and ask to be connected to Animal Care & Control.
Bites from bats are tiny, may be painless, and may not leave a mark. An person who had physical contact or touched this bat should talk with health care provider this weekend for assessment. During the week, Minnesota Department of Health can also provide rabies assessments at 651-201-5414.
If vou did not touch or have any contact with the bat, you have no risk of rabies and do not need shots.

The cowardice involved in graphically representing a butt on a bidet remote, but switching to “person with hair” for the vulva spray button is unacceptable. I demand a pictographic vulva, Toto.
A wall mounted Toto “Washlet” remote with various buttons to control seat open/close, stop spray, spray butt, spray vulva, air dry, etc. The vulva spray button is pictographically represented by a person with swoopy hair sitting and a spray hitting their crotch. Meanwhile, the butt spray button looks like a god damn butt, as it should.

Aventon is a great starting point for “affordable” cargo bikes that can be serviced easily most anywhere. Most of the more expensive bikes (Terns, Urban Arrows, front box bikes) will tie you to one or two local shops willing to touch them. Not a problem per se, but definitely a trade-off.

Trans rights is inherently a bodily autonomy issue. Just like abortion rights is. We can't have gender equity or reproductive freedom without trans rights. Full stop. You can yell at me and make up shit that you claim I've said if it makes you feel better. I don't care. I'm right. And you know it.

I’m sorry to tell you that chip type doesn’t change their hetero alignment, so it’s not relevant here. Cornbread is not a topping, it’s a side. I haven’t researched chili side pieces.

Labels are optional, and only intended to enrich the experience and communicate with others. But, you can always be “queer” for chili and leave it at that.

Cheese on bottom is valid. For many years, I was a chips (Fritos) in bowl, cheese on top of those, add chili, sprinkle with more cheese.

Nonbinary, because I don't use tomatoes or onions. Bisexual, because I put chips and cheese in my chili. Switch, because I top with cheese, but put my chips on the bottom.

Nissa Mitchell @nissamitchell.com · 15/09/2026
You'll note that this system gives rise to many and varied combinations (just like the real deal!), with some traits cancelling out or combining with others to form additional things. For example, based on this, my chili orientation is: Nonbinary bisexual switch.
