I’m too busy to keep up with my brewing hobby. Anyone in the Twin Cities want to take advantage of this fact by buying my six tap kegerator and/or kegs? You could be the coolest mom (or dad, or person) on your block—with 6 different types of root beer on tap (or other beverages).
A six-tap Komos Kegerator, with stainless steel front and tap “tee.” It’s in fantastic shape, and worth your hard earned dollars. The back of Nissa’s Komos kegerator showing off an LED light strip that really classes it up, and a back-mounted CO2 canister and dual body regulator. The inside of Nissa’s Kegerator, with ball lock fittings and brass manifolds/shutoffs for the CO2 lines.Eight 5 gallon nsf certified ball lock kegs and two 2.5 gallon ball lock kegs. They’re in phenomenal condition, and all purchased new by Nissa as recently as last year.

The cowardice involved in graphically representing a butt on a bidet remote, but switching to “person with hair” for the vulva spray button is unacceptable. I demand a pictographic vulva, Toto.
A wall mounted Toto “Washlet” remote with various buttons to control seat open/close, stop spray, spray butt, spray vulva, air dry, etc. The vulva spray button is pictographically represented by a person with swoopy hair sitting and a spray hitting their crotch. Meanwhile, the butt spray button looks like a god damn butt, as it should.

My youngest, who is turning 8, made a birthday list. “Creepy doll” is my favorite item on the list and just refers to the “American Girl but cheaper” dolls that they personally find quite creepy.
A birthday list titled “thing’s I Want” written by a child that is turning 8 in a spiral notebook. Items include: “lol house, bean bag, pokemon card’s, lol omg doll, lol doll’s, mini verse, squish mello’s, big lol doll’s, and creepy doll”

According to “the Edge” the “sacred masculine” is pretty and has boobs and hips. I mean… I could get behind that. Men, this is the goal.
A copy of “the Edge,” a free magazine that claims to be “a community for higher consciousness.” The cover has what might be an AI illustration if what’s supposed to be the “divine feminine” and the “sacred masculine” personified as people—one that small and red and pretty (in a conventionally feminine way) and another that’s bigger and blue and pretty (in what is also a very feminine way). The magazine advertises restoring harmony and strength—and pretty boys with boobs and hips.

Their America: Driving a large SUV 20 minutes to the chain grocery store to buy second-rate jarred salsa and sad chips for “couples game night.” My America: Riding a Dutch bike 2 blocks to a Mexican market to get three different fresh salsas, chips, and guacamole to feed my gay-ass tabletop group.
Nissa’s Dutch bike (Gazelle Tour Populair), with her Clarijs panniers loaded down with more chips and salsa than a family could eat in a week, posed in front of La Casa Market in South Minneapolis. The image is evocative of the American dream, and its necessarily socialistic and pluralistic approach to living a good life.

If anyone is wondering whether @mcbl.bike is still endorsed by the opossum community in south Minneapolis, the answer is: yes. This friendo, who I have named Ossum O’Possum, met me at the door to our garage tonight as I came back from mplsqueerbook.club.

Minneapolis isn’t perfect, but I’m very thankful for its relative affordability compared to many other “bikeable” cities, and that our infrastructure—despite gaps—makes running errands, eating dinner, and grabbing groceries with my kids viable by bike. No better bang for your buck in North America.

Sorry, still stuck on this. I’ve always thought “born this way” was a shit argument, and I can’t believe people still try it. Regardless of whether attraction and gender are innate and fixed, living a queer life *is* a choice—a choice prioritizing your wellbeing in the face of a hostile society. 1/4
Screenshot of part of an opinion piece. Highlighted section marked by asterisks.

But the broader trend of casting the queer net ever wider has muddled a once-clear public message about who gay people are. Being gay begins to look less like an inborn trait and more like a chosen ideology or aesthetic.

*Subsuming the fixed reality of gayness under the much more malleable banner of queerness undermines a core premise behind gay rights: that sexual orientation isn't chosen.* And polling suggests that premise is, indeed, being weakened; the share of Americans who believe people are born gay has declined over the past decade.

In a time of backlash, this is not a confusion that gay people can afford, especially those of us who live in red states and religious communities. In my work with the Reformation Project, which advocates the acceptance of same-sex relationships in the church, I have watched conservative Christians grow noticeably more guarded in recent years. Even those who had, however reluctantly,

Some people will say this REI ad was AI generated. I choose to believe that they have finally embraced the power of “reach around bars,” and acknowledged the bourgeois redundancy of having two pedals.

I have reached "My partner is sending me photos of Dutch-style bikes to identify" levels of Dutch bike obsession. If anyone is wondering, pretty sure it's a Public "C" series bike with the same paint job as the current C1.

It has rim brakes, as well as the same striping and slightly swept-back bars as the one in the photo—but the C1 is a single speed, so it's either been modified, or it's a different C-series bike with the same paint job that's just not available currently (only the C1 currently comes in black).

"I don't do politics"
Well baby, politics is going to do you, regardless.

Voting 101: Nine people on a bus. Three vote to drive over a cliff. Two vote to go get ice cream. Four don't bother to vote. Everyone dies.

Like it or not, you're on the bus with everyone else.
Make your voice heard.

flipocrite
The Harm-Reduction approach means:
• It's not always about the ice cream
• The people abstaining for moral purity reasons ("I'd only vote for a VEGAN ice cream parlor!") are functionally equivalent to those abstaining because they are okay with either option
• The ice cream not being very good does NOT mean driving off the cliff is somehow better

Periodic reminder that the Minneapolis venue that began its life being used by the Minnesota National Guard, eventually became the home of the Minneapolis Lakers, and which later became a parking garage, is not called "The Armory." It is clearly The EARMORYE. It's right there in the logo.

RIP Fair State Brewing Cooperative, you deserved so much better than this.
Message from Fair State Board:

Dear members,

It is with deep regret that we share this update regarding Fair State Brewing Cooperative. The Cooperative is no longer operating as a fully functioning business, which is why the board has not held an annual meeting or board elections this year.Following our Chapter 11 filing in 2024, the bank sold Fair State’s intellectual property, the Fair State Brewing brand, physical assets from the St. Paul production facility, and the majority of taproom assets to Ranchers Beverage Co. These items had been pledged as collateral for prior loans and were made available during the bankruptcy process. This transaction also ensured that many former cooperative employees would remain employed.

Ranchers then funded the taproom to give the Cooperative an opportunity to rebuild and return to viability. Unfortunately, revenues this year have fallen short, and outstanding debts remain significant. With heavy hearts, we must inform you that the Cooperative and taproom will close its doors on Monday, December 8, so please come out by Sunday to have one last drink together. We are profoundly grateful to all of you who helped make this cooperative a vibrant and meaningful community, and to the taproom employees for all their hard work. Please continue to support local businesses with the same passion you brought to Fair State. Ranchers will provide further communication regarding the future of the Fair State brand, which will continue to be available.

Thank you for everything,
Fair State Brewing Cooperative Board of Directors

I take it all back, Joe Biden wasn’t a milquetoast neoliberal out of touch with the political reality of the United States. He was a visionary. An ally of untold measure. The only thing that would improve this is if the woman was topless in the first picture, too.
A copy of the photo posted to whitehouse.gov referencing Transgender Day of Visibility. It’s actually two photos. The one of the left is a selfie of a (presumably) trans woman standing next to Joe Biden. It is the single greatest image ever posted to whitehouse.gov, and makes all true American patriots weep from overwhelming pride in our nation.
