On this new episode of Punk This Week, @ninacorcoran.bsky.social + I discuss some wildly good new records by Eraser, Perennial, Fugitive Bubble, Name Names, Dabda, and Meadow. We also get Nina's highlights from Riot Fest 2026 + my recap of a night with Uranium Club, Citric Dummies, and Jim E. Brown.

Song of the summer: power edition (seizing it, ceding it) pitchfork.com/story/20-con...
A screenshot of a blurb about the song "Florida Water Blues" by Twisted Teens on Pitchfork.

Twisted Teens: “Florida Water Blues”

No amount of meticulous planning or vacation-fund pooling will guarantee a memory as unforgettable this summer as an impromptu hang with your dirtbag friends. Don’t have any? Twisted Teens will whisk you away with “Florida Water Blues,” free of charge. Every image singer-guitarist Caspian Hollywell conjures with his signature rasp is a pro-tip: swig from a flask of rubbing alcohol, tilt your head back in the rain from an old-school sprinkler, take a selfie of your warped selves in the convenience store’s CCTV. Hollywell puts it best: “After all, you’re just a person who doesn’t know shit/We get everything we have by the grace of heaven.” Grab what’s yours and run. — Nina Corcoran A screenshot of a blurb about the song "Wink Wink" by Charli XCX on Pitchfork.

Charli XCX: “Wink Wink”

While vulnerability has never been off the table for Charli XCX, she hasn’t sounded so content to sprawl on the couch and call it a night as she does on “Wink Wink.” She’s laughing at past attempts to be seductive while licking cream off strawberries. She’s jumping on a trampoline with no underwear one minute and reclining in wide-leg pants the next. That trademark indecision of summer takes root in her words and spreads through the music until her vocals diverge in the chorus, peeling like a clementine’s skin as one shrill line scales upward and the other remains monotone. Is she being fickle or coy? It’s all in the eyes. —Nina Corcoran
