@bsky.app Tornado producing storms over NW Illinois on 4/17/26, with @ninabrady.bsky.social #wx #weather #storms #Midwest #photography
Landscape shot looking across a farm field towards a distant small community, being overshadowed by a tornado-warned storm. The sky has a teal tint to it due to how the storm clouds are filtering the light. A large, positive strike lightning bolt is visible to the left. Same view of the farm field and distant community with a much larger lightning strike visible.A different view of a large storm in the distance, looking along a country road that disappears into the horizon, with some farms visible on either side of the road. The storm is very well-defined with a large area of rain visible beneath it.Shot of a storm cloud that was directly overhead and was developing rotation which is apparent from the shape of the cloud.

ICE detention deaths are now occurring at a rate of roughly one every four days. Three weeks ago that rate was one every six days. The pace is accelerating, and Congress has not launched a single investigation.

Juliana Stratton is the obvious pick. I hate even having to weigh in here. It's plain as day, and the frontrunner is so bad. Folks, this needs to get turned around. Like desperately. Phone bank for Stratton, talk to your friends, anything, just please, Illinois, NO.

Once again: Focusing on their lack of training is a mistake. With "better training," their violence would simply cost more, and they would still kill whoever they wanted, but make it look more professional — to make people more comfortable, the way many of you are at ease with local police violence.

In October, ICE grabbed Maher Tarabishi. He was a 24/7 caregiver for his disabled son Wael. At the time of Maher’s detention, disability advocates warned that taking away Wael’s caregiver put his life at risk. Wael died on Friday at age 30. ICE caused his death. They didn’t get to say goodbye.

ICE in Chicago detained two people (that we know of) for filming them today, a cyclist and a neighborhood rapid responder. This in addition to tear gassing another neighborhood and brandishing weapons at rapid response—both things that have also already been going on for weeks.

All charges brought against protesters at Broadview today must be dropped. When cops and agents attack crowds without provocation, they make shit up to justify their attacks (in his case, an attack waged on a cooperative crowd to produce fascist social media content). These charges must be dropped.
