ProTip - don't stab your finger with a bread knife. It's a pain to deal with and takes forever to heal up. Related ProTip - Baguettes from Lidl turn into literal knife repellent boulders when heated, especially after a day. These two facts may be related. Please be more careful than I've been. x_x

Well, I've finally made the switch. My desktop is now CachyOS and I've ditched Windows 11 and the cesspit of ads, marketing and forced AI altogether. It's impressive how far Linux has come in the last few years. I was able to get just about everything set up in around 4 hours last night.

In case anyone isn't aware yet, keep away from Glasgow city centre if you can at all. The train station is up in flames and it doesn't seem to be slowing down at all. If you're travelling through the city, go around instead or delay your plans. McGill's buses is taking existing train tickets.

I think what you mean is “You’ll soon be uninstalling the Sky News app”. Not everything should need an account to use. This doesn’t protect anyone nor prevent scraping so at best it’s an excuse to add invasive profiling.

A prompt on opening the Sky News app explaining that you will soon need a free account to use the Sky News App. The prompt provides sign in, account creation and a temporary skip button.

So ScotiaCon, I had a good weekend but honestly it was in spite of the con. The events were of no interest and really just got in the way of seeing my friends. The social side was good, but it's painful to watch my friends burn themselves out for an event that doesn't care for them in return.

Bangkok has been a fantastic experience. I’d definitely come again but with more plans to see people and go to specific places. That said, we weren’t short of things to do and places to try. It was lovely to meet the people we did see though!

So, Holliday got off to a rough start but Kuala Lumpur was really quite nice. I came in with honestly pretty low expectations and after not getting on a flight my mood was in the gutter. Thanks for turning that around Malaysia! It was brief but hopefully I’ll be back sometime!
