Choose a public domain image, use clipart, take a pic with your phone that doesn't have your face if you're concerned about privacy. There's a million options. Choosing to use GenAi Is to ignore everything artists have been SCREAMING about for almost twice years now.

Im so depressed. I got 4 fake commission "clients" who were all scammer bots in my inboxes on insta and fb. Just so tired of this shit. Just so tired of my career being meaningless now. A robot can do that. So im a waste of space now & ill never make ends meet. I want to kms. I have no hope.

Hey everyone! Please don't censor the artist name when you post a commission!! No @/ApfelSkai We want to see comments, people want the convenience of clicking the name to follow. Even on twit it was REALLY easy to mute notifications even on our own posts, don't worry about "annoying" artists. 😶‍🌫️

Throwing this out there: If you’re a creator of any sort (artist, writer, whatever - you get the idea) and you’re cool with using AI to generate things? We will not get along. At all.

When you've approached an artist for a commission and then found out you can't afford it, a response suggestion guide thread: -I'm afraid that's above my budget right now, but thank you for responding -Do you offer any payment plans? (If they say no, refer to point 1 above)

Sucks that I was looking up artist Cicely Mary Barker, who is famous for her beautiful illustrations of fairies, children and flowers from the 1920s and 1930s, and the first Google Image result was a *terrible* AI amalgamation of her artwork. It's truly just beyond depressing at this point.

A screencap of the Google Search results for artist Cicely Mary Barker. The top image result, and the largest image, is an AI generated fairy with too many wings, a face that doesn't make sense and one arm with two hands sticking out of it.

Seeing everyone doing their art summaries for the year and posting their best pieces of the year is cool. Wish I didn’t feel like a failure as an artist so I can actually feel proud of what I’ve done, but maybe looking back through my art will help me get over that feeling.

Life Hack: if you have an art in mind but don’t have the ability to draw it, don’t reach for inferior AI programs, commission an artist! These folks can grab it right out of your mind and make it all fancy-like, and many of them enjoy things like “eating” and “paying rent.” They’re just like us!

So apparently, there’s now Twitter Bots specifically to snatch up BlueSky codes. I posted these on the TL and they got snatched within milliseconds of posting. Never forget when Elon said he’d get rid of all the bots and ended up making them worse!

My notification tab on this app, showing two very botlike and similarly-formatted usernames that joined with my codes
