This was insanely good. It's in Boston for three more nights and then goes to Broadway. Go see it if you can!

British post-hardcore legends Svalbard played what was billed as their first and last show in North America tonight in Toronto. Truly going out on top and on their own terms. A huge privilege to be in attendance 🫡.

Hey, look at Substack promoting Andrew Tate as the #1 new bestseller. The company's amoral leadership & backers will platform anyone, even ludicrously toxic rapists & human traffickers.

There’s nothing more harmful to your scene than skipping the set of your billmates. resist the urge to smoke/drink your way through their set, wait 25 minutes regardless of whether or not they’re your favorite band. This isn’t a high school clique and you need to grow out of this line of thinking.

It's time for the end-of-the-year list that no one has been waiting for: my top ten albums of 2025. Did things the right way this time and bought them all on vinyl. Fuck streaming in general and Spotify in particular. First up:

These mystical, reflective pieces celebrate the cimbalom's resonant qualities, and honor the eminent composer György Kurtág, whose music provided Tolle the inspiration to dedicate himself to the instrument www.barnesandnoble.com/w/mischa-sal...

Yep. I saved hundreds or even thousands of dollars a month just from switching from Substack to self-hosted Ghost. I pay a roughly flat $85/month now (~$75 for mailsending, $10 for hosting), vs. 10% of all my subscription income.

Former Substack creators say they’re earning more on new platforms that offer larger shares of subscription revenue

Former Substack writers who exited the platform in early 2024 are making more money on Beehiiv and Ghost thanks to their fixed pricing models.
