I went in a different direction with this and made it so some things are just small and valuable, making them really desirable. The problem is this does create a situation where players try to calculate optimal value per encumbrance, which is realistic in its own way, but slower

I think prep notebooks (esp with notes on what helped and didn’t afterward) would be a really interesting thing to see from others. Like, no layout or art or anything, just as raw as it can be. That is likely to be more helpful than an adventure in some cases.

I really wanted way more Fort Haights and way fewer arena bosses.

This is one of my biggest critiques of Elden Ring. Fort Haight is a tantalizing example of what could be — a “boss” at the top of an open air fort where the different floors interact, and interesting encounters dotting the multiple, overlapping paths to it. And the boss can fight alongside the mobs!

Being a writer is the best. I can just get uglier and more disgusting with each passing year and it doesn’t even matter
