One thing he specifically requested that my system doesn't handle out of the box is that the players all play uplifted animals living in Toronto after all the humans disappeared. So now I have some fun creative writing and designing to build raccoons and pigeons as character classes.

He basically described my own system All-Out Apocalypse to me in layman's terms. I calmly (rabidly) told him I had written a system just like that, and causally offered (screeched, bug-eyed) that I'd be happy to run a game for him. He accepted!! I've started casually (obsessively) planning.

After making lunch for my kid's first day back at school I got carried away and also roasted up six sweet potatoes (now mashed and freezing in silicone muffin cups), and a dozen muffin-sized apple crumbles for snack tonight and breakfast tomorrow. Successfully using up our produce!!

My brother @cerhendriks showed us the Tolkien exhibit at the Stratford museum. It was great, but the chrome mannequin wearing the Gandalf outfit immediately conjured to mind this excellent meme.

Did a drawing of a cleric for a social event at work. Man, it took a while to shake the rust off. I had to call it quits before I could fix a lot of the stuff I'd have liked to polish up. I need to draw more often.

Five years ago we were fortunate enough to be able to buy a home with a friend. This spring he let us know that he was ready to go his own way (amicably), so we had to quickly figure out if we could afford to buy out his half. It's been a heckin' stressful summer, but today we closed the sale!

I did think Walker Pidgeon played a very compelling troubled scientist. He had great screen presence. I am not familiar with the actor but he had a lot of gravitas. Hopefully he's not cancelled, I haven't looked into the guy.

Researching for #fluxgate, tonight I watched Forbidden Planet! What a wild movie for the time. I'm not sure why the poster features Robby carrying Altaira. As far as I recall that never happened in the film. Just an homage to other classic pulp planetary romance I guess.

Some stuff I doodled for an abandoned project. It was gonna be a jungle post apocalypse. I lifted Ogremen from here for my #allout apocalypse game, though I changed them a fair bit.

Very fun experiment on a rainy day today. The neighborhood girls wondered if it would be possible to make a potato substitute somehow with the ingredients we had at hand. We ended up trying to make cauliflower croquettes, subbing boiled cauliflower for the potato. Verdict: unconvincing but tasty!
