I am an alchemist!!! Behold my powders! I got a cheap second hand dehydrator. I am doing oranges and tomatoes, but I threw some orange rinds in as well. They got finished quickly so I pulled them out and pulverized them with sugar. I'll try this on tea, toast, and maybe make an orange simple syrup?

A dehydrator rack with orange slices, orange peels, and tomatoes barely visible on the rack below.

A mortar and pestle with a pale yellow powder inside.

A hand holding a small plastic takeout cup containing the yellow powder. There can't be more than 2tbsp of powder in there.

Gotta install shelving and make a few other adjustments but I'm happy with how my new basement workbench area is coming along. It will be much nicer to have a separate area instead of taking up half my office.

A small room with white walls and a plywood floor. It features a gate leg table covered in tool stuff, two peg boards with tools hung up, and some tool boxes on the floor.

A poorly composed photo, but the evening clouds this week have been truly spectacular.

A photo of the evening sky showing a big puffy cumulus clouds washed in peach and plum colours. In the foreground is a construction crane and a brick building.

Came home for a funeral where the dress code was "the colours of her garden." I did my best, but I have a pretty subdued wardrobe.

Dorky looking white guy with a beard and receding hairline giving a thumbs up in a bathroom selfie. Wearing a grey wool jacket, a blue floral print shirt and a powder blue necktie.

Mustered the energy to walk the dog and was treated to the bike-chain sound of katydids! Spotted one taking off and followed it for a picture.

Two physical bluray cases: Junk Head and Mad God. The photo is crispy as hell from all the filters I put over it.

My brother @cerhendriks showed us the Tolkien exhibit at the Stratford museum. It was great, but the chrome mannequin wearing the Gandalf outfit immediately conjured to mind this excellent meme.

A dummy wearing a gandalf costume. The face is just chrome.

A three panel meme made from screenshots from the Lord of the rings.
Panel 1 shows gandalf standing outside a hobbit hole door with a caption " no thank you. We don't want any more visitors, well-wishers, or distant relations."
Panel 2 shows gandalf's face except it's been replaced with Macho Man Randy Savage's face with a caption saying "What about the cream of the crop?" He's holding a little creamer.
Panel 3 shows Bilbo stepping out the door with the caption"Macho-Mandalf!"

Did a drawing of a cleric for a social event at work. Man, it took a while to shake the rust off. I had to call it quits before I could fix a lot of the stuff I'd have liked to polish up. I need to draw more often.

An illustration of a slightly feminine figure from the waist up wearing a chainmail coif and a hooded cowl. She is holding a book with a sun motif in one hand, and a torch aloft in the other. Her eyes are closed and she is speaking, perhaps chanting or reciting something. The light from the torch illuminates her face.

Five years ago we were fortunate enough to be able to buy a home with a friend. This spring he let us know that he was ready to go his own way (amicably), so we had to quickly figure out if we could afford to buy out his half. It's been a heckin' stressful summer, but today we closed the sale!

Totally fascinating animation!! The invisible beast looks like a Bluth character. Very visually incongruous with the rest of the film, but still fun to watch.

I did think Walker Pidgeon played a very compelling troubled scientist. He had great screen presence. I am not familiar with the actor but he had a lot of gravitas. Hopefully he's not cancelled, I haven't looked into the guy.

Pidgeon playing the role of Dr Morbius, and he looks anguished here.

Researching for #fluxgate, tonight I watched Forbidden Planet! What a wild movie for the time. I'm not sure why the poster features Robby carrying Altaira. As far as I recall that never happened in the film. Just an homage to other classic pulp planetary romance I guess.

Some stuff I doodled for an abandoned project. It was gonna be a jungle post apocalypse. I lifted Ogremen from here for my #allout apocalypse game, though I changed them a fair bit.

A giant cyclops with a huge head and a loincloth, labeled "Ogremen". Stands twice the height of a nearby human figure.

A doodle labeled "ruined portal" which depicts a damaged mechanical postal with half-circles suspended from the ceiling and attached to the floor. Bushes have grown nearby. A small flame or something hovers in the air amid the ruins

Some kind of feathery, flower-like creature that stands on two legs and is labeled "outer ones"

Going through an old sketchbook and posting some stuff I don't think I ever posted before.

A pencil drawing of a medieval fantasy peasant house with smoke billowing from the chimney

Some kind of French goblin, maybe? A small black toque and a striped shirt. He looks smug.

A really rough sketch of a bugbear with a club. It's just kinda standing there.

Drew some kind of half-baked uninspired Aragorn / Strider type figure while getting coffee with some former co-workers today. It was supposed to be a "get together and draw" thing, but was mostly a "get together and chat" thing. Still good.

A page from my sketchbook. Two pencil drawings. One of a lanky swordsman type fellow with a hood, cape, sword, and tights. The other is a close up of his face, which is long and gaunt.

It's foggy today because it's so warm. I stopped by the cemetery to take some pictures. It was visibility swirling in places which was pretty amazing to see. These pictures really don't do it any justice.

Paint progress on the kiddo's birthday party space ship

A cool as hell white rocketship (kid's sized) with a teal stripe. It has a barrel shaped body, a silver nose cone, two engines tucked against the sides, and three fins. It's sitting in my living room. It looks COOL AS FUCK!!!

Same as last pic, but EVEN COOLER because it's viewed from behind to show the lights from the jet engines and the lights on the dashboard.

I wrote a simple adventure outline for testing my vehicle combat rules for All Out Apocalypse and spent some time condensing them onto one page just for fun. I need to write all the vehicle stats still. (If you are a person with plans to test these rules with me soon, maybe don't read all the text)

A page of white printer paper detailing the cast and circumstances of a ttrpg adventure scenario, drawn and written in pencil. It's titled "A BRUSH WITH DEATH."
There are three columns: the members of The Argonauts, The Job (a description of the person being rescued), and Taureau's Gang. At the bottom of the page is a tiny hex map, and some more adventure details.

A little home organization project. Part 1 of 2. The other half of the board will go on the blank wall to the left. And yes, I did level it. The walls are extremely unlevel, hence the narrowing gap in the corner.

A tall thin strip of pegboard affixed to the wall next to a concave interior corner. The board has about a dozen tools hung up including a hammer, screwdrivers, pliers, a paint roller, and more. The other wall that makes up the corner is blank, awaiting more peg board. On the other side of the pegboard some shelves holding board games are just visible.

Ok so I'm going through my photos and came across this photo of a cool car I saw at the pharmacy last week. But I noticed a new detail I missed originally...

A photo of a cool old school car, kinda in the same era as a Model T Ford or something. It's painted gold and has white walled tires. Its convertible top is down.

A crop in on the previous photo, showing a single hand poking out from under the folded down car top.

Waiting for a connecting flight and working on some treasure tables. The jet lag is probably impacting quality...

A photo of my sketchbook. Hand written lists are subdivided on the page, along with a drawing of a bunch of mutants. There's a short one in a suit, one hunched and holding a pistol, a huge one with three weapon toting arms and warduke's winged helmet, and a beardy one with eye stalks.
The lists are procedures for generating treasure, as well as lists of treasure. The contents are partially cut off by the frame.
