There are major account take-over problems happening right now on mastodon instances - all appearances are that the actor is using stolen passwords, probably from malware running on desktops. I've suspended hundreds of compromised accounts over the past 48 hours, but only two on mine. If you […]

I'm working on a developmental edit for a client. The prose is technically clear and correct, but it's also flat and boring. I know the author used Grammarly. I wonder if that's the problem. The sentences have no nuance, or complexity, or style. No voice. Everything sounds the same. #AmEditing

This abandoned church lies tucked away on the fringes of a small English town. Standing on a small hill, making it a prominent landmark. The church was built in the 1880s and closed in the early 2010s. #Abandoned #Photography #Urbex #England #Church #Ruins #LostPlaces #Explores
An abandoned church interior with high arched ceilings and decaying wooden pews. Green moss/algae covers walls and floor.

Took our ballots to the ballot drop box last night. Although we could mail them, we feel more comfortable delivering them directly to a drop box. Glad to have that done! #Colorado #VoteByMail #EarlyVoting

One of the things I love about talking to prospective clients is how interesting they can be. I had a call yesterday from a retired electrical engineer who wanted a dev ed for his sci fi novel. Turns out he started working in computers when they were room-sized mainframes, built chips and memory […]

#ScribesAndMakers Oct 2: Do you think it's important for authors to use different pen names for different genres? It is important for the Amazon algorithm, which will be important for as long as most people buy their books on Amazon. Also, a writer writing both erotica and kidlit should […]

Rolling Stone just dropped a massive exposé branding Trump "the most corrupt president in American history," and he is reportedly seething. 😜 😈 The piece lays out, in brutal detail, how Trump has turned the presidency into a personal cash machine.

Knocking for Help: A Pelican’s Unlikely Rescue

#WordWeavers 7/28 - Do you create unique character names, or use "real world" names? In my fantasy WIP, everyone is born under a particular natal element (earth, air, fire, water). It is common for parents to choose a name that reflects that. Hence: Clay (born under earth); Rill (water); and […]
