This is what's been so jarring about the evolution of any kind of "verbal commands" technology. It was advertised as being able to parse our sentences, but really ended up training US how to speak to IT. Which completely breaks when they change the programming and we start all over again.

I remember back when the Apple Newton was introduced. It was supposed to "learn" your handwriting over time but it seemed more likely it would train the user to write so it could read. I figure the same with AI - you won't teach it YOUR routine. It will teach you ITS routine.

You know this is my third or fourth go around with this kind of technological innovation for consumers and citizens. And a lot of it is the same. Same pattern of exaggerated benefits, underestimated challenges. What’s new this time is the sector isn’t even pretending to care about the consumer.
