I G R A V I T Y O F B E C O M I N G I What if transformation isn’t loud, but slow—like stars folding into themselves? Gravity of Becoming explores the silent pull of change, where every spiral inward is also a path outward. - The Asylum Art - Art and words by Yves #AbstractExpressionism
Gravity of Becoming is a meditation on inner shifts—those quiet, invisible changes that reshape us from the inside out. The deep, swirling blues suggest weight, pressure, the gravity of feeling pulled toward something undefined. Threads of gold emerge like veins of light breaking through layers of self, not triumphantly, but gently—as if they’ve always been there, just waiting to surface. The brushstrokes follow a spiral path, echoing the rhythm of introspection: circling, returning, descending deeper with each turn.
This painting isn’t about clarity. It’s about surrender. The soft unraveling of who we were, so something new can take form.

Quite apart from the economics, this secret police force and the prison network that will be built for it, is the most repugnant and frightening aspect of the bill; Medicaid can be funded again, food stamps can be funded again, clean energy can be funded, taxes can be increased progressively. But an immigrant prison network, overseen by Trump-loyal paramilitaries, with no resources for due process, will be very hard to dislodge, and could easily be turned against the citizenry. This is Stephen Miller’s wet dream and it will stain the whole country.

I H O W I T B U R N S T O B E A L I V E I I poured everything into this—rage, love, longing. How It Burns to Be Alive is not just a sun. It’s a scream of light, a wound that radiates. - The Asylum Art - Art and words by Yves #AbstractExpressionism #abstract #blueskyart #complexptsd
How It Burns to Be Alive is an abstract expressionist eruption of feeling, rendered in thick, raw strokes that radiate from a sun-like core. The central form pulses with molten yellows and golds, its textured impasto surface nearly trembling with energy. From it, jagged rays stretch outward like grasping limbs—reaching, resisting, needing.
The dark, burnt reds and umber that surround it aren’t shadows—they’re memory, pain, pressure. This isn’t a depiction of the sun. It’s the internal sun we carry—the burning will to keep going. The ache of intensity. The light that doesn’t soothe but scars.
This is a painting about the price of feeling everything.

I V E I L O F S I L E N C E I A face half-lost in mist, half-found in memory. Veil of Silence — an exploration of identity, grief, and presence fading into absence. - The Asylum Art - Art and words by Yves #Art #OilPainting #Surrealism #blueskyart #painting #complexcptsd #veilofsilence
Veil of Silence is a haunting, semi-realistic oil painting that depicts the face of a man emerging from a fog of gray and blue hues. His expression is somber and unflinching, yet shrouded in layers of mist and abstraction, as though he’s suspended between visibility and erasure. The brushwork is expressive yet restrained, blending form into void with quiet intensity.

The piece speaks to themes of loss, disconnection, and the quiet collapse of self. It evokes the emotional space between presence and disappearance — a silent scream buried beneath layers of unspoken grief. This is not just a portrait; it’s a psychological echo rendered in oil and shadow.

I F R A C T U R E D S I L E N C E I Half light, half shadow — a mask of stillness cracking beneath the weight of being. Fractured Silence confronts the duality within us all. - The Asylum Art - Art and words by Yves #art #Expressionism #AbstractPortrait #abstract #blueskyart #complexptsd
Fractured Silence is a striking abstract expressionist work that portrays a face split between light and darkness. One half is veiled in deep, oppressive black, void of expression — an empty mask. The other half, bathed in pale, golden tones, is cracked and fragile, suggesting vulnerability and decay beneath a seemingly calm surface. Set against a richly textured red and blue background, the image evokes themes of identity, inner conflict, and the quiet breaking point of the human spirit. It invites the viewer to question: what do we reveal, and what do we hide?

Good morning! Some original altCDC poetry to mark the occasion.🚫👑 #NoKings
June 14
They gathered not for kings or gold, But for a truth that's centuries old:
No ruler's crown, no tyrant's sway,
Can dim the light of a freer day.
Across the streets, in vibrant streams, Pride unfurled its radiant beams.
Rainbow banners, hearts unchained,
A love so fierce it can't be tamed.
History shall mark this day, Not for gilded taco's false display, But for the people, bold and free, Who marched for love and liberty.

Given that the undocumented can't access Medicaid, I'm not sure what they would get out of this. Medicaid would have info on legal residents & naturalized citizens, but one of the morally grey benefits of undocumented migrants is the fact they gotta pay taxes without really benefiting from them.
