'Who the fuck am I to do this???' I think, as I bend characters for darkness, loss, grief, power, and love. I kill them, and hope readers will feel what I'm feeling as I do it. It's what he deserves. It's what we deserve. Writing this chapter, I did NOT expect the crashout to be this intense.

One thing I've had to learn in the indie scene is that you can't decide who reads your books. You end up with fans who aren't what you expect. This can be good and bad. Good if they dig your stories from a different perspective. Bad if they try to co-opt those stories for their own world view.
