Hey, I’m just asking questions. Ignorant questions, bigoted questions, questions that have been repeatedly answered for many years. Sorry, but I’m not listening to answers right now; I’m far too busy asking questions. It’s called being intellectually curious.

What It Feels Like at Cornell Right Now
As a professor at the Ivy League school, Kate Manne has known many, many victims. There’s a palpable feeling on campus, she writes, that this is big.

a symptom of how even “elite” academic institutions perceive “thinking” as a necessary evil rather than an opportunity for responsible growth. Students perceive essay assignments as something teachers force them to do (like a hoop through which to jump),

An essay—Montaigne’s invention of trying to think something all the way through—is not a form of punishment or a consequence that must be faced for harming another person, and using it as such further evidences the erosion of intellectual life. The Cornell sexual assault case is

There is not one “benefit” of LLMs that offsets their damage to education (and their environmental impacts, their stealing of human produced writing and art, students pressured to default to them in every instance, etc.).
