The documents Trump cited don't even make his case - and actually refute much of it. But that didn'tg matter. No foreign regime, no spies, no saboteurs have yet matched the damage that America’s own president just did tonight to faith in U.S. elections. www.theatlantic.com/ideas/2026/0...

Too Much Democracy Is Bad for Democracy
The major American parties have ceded unprecedented power to primary voters. It’s a radical experiment—and it’s failing.

To the men trying to excuse this or question the veracity of the woman who came forward for this story: If you do not know any women who have been sexually assaulted and not gone to the police about it, it means the women in your life do not trust you enough to be honest about their experiences.

I have edited a lot of sexual-assault-accusation articles, and this one easily clears every veracity check: contemporaneous emails with her therapist, a boyfriend who knew, a woman she warned—all before Platner ran for office. Good on Politico for nailing it, and on Jenny Racicot for speaking up.

Exclusive: Woman who dated Graham Platner says he sexually assaulted her

Yes, and that's how gambling went from Americans legally wagering $4.9 billion on sports in 2017 to $160 billion last year. We do it because we can, not because times are bad. If anything, it's a sign of how flush we are that people can spend like this on gambling (and porn)

Well, hard to find somebody not geriatric when our state is pretty much that. We have run better candidates against Collins, see Gideon. It didn't matter. It's what it is. Platner is a POS who was recruited to run by DC folks. This image of him is completely crafted by them. They want a type.
