In a world like this, I don't think its unreasonable to expect a scenario like this: BGG is bought by Asmodee. And then suddenly all of the front page becomes their games and 90% of blog posts that get featured are now ads for their games. Things can change sooo quickly.

I am the admin of multiple former thriving boardgame communities on Facebook, before the platform stopped showing people posts. I had 5 times the follower on Twitter, before it was bought by a facist. And if I want to post on Instagram now, I need to film a video as that's the only thing they show.

It feels comical to me not to think about independance from any platform at this point. (This is not a stab or criticism at BGG.) Consiodering how basically all platforms get bought out or otherwise enshitificate themselves at some point. You need your own place to build your own community.

The people have the power, if they just come together to wield it. It's a game about the belief that resisting the dystopia is possible – if regular people stand together. You can't safe the future alone, which is represented in the game by the "Get Support" action and you collecting Follower.

It's crazy. Companies spent years spending huge amounts of money to market their products as the best in the business with ads that were perfectly crafted. Now they are like: 30% at 1% of the cost is good enough, let's ship it. I'm sure some companies will have a big wake up call in a few years.

My personal theory: Everyone who evangelizes AI because it's doing their job now has already checked out of their job long ago and don't actually like doing their work. That's also why on average more boomers are AI boosters.
