Would it be a HIPPA violation for a therapist to tell people (non-therapists, I mean) that her patients are on the spectrum? I know the cliche that even therapists have therapists but I'd be pissed if I knew my therapist was discussing my mental health with their friends and family.

Since I've been seeing a lot of victim blaming and Republicans using the paradox of tolerance to try and bully people into mourning Charlie Kirk, here is your daily reminder that the paradox of tolerance is a fascist manipulation tactic used to silence marginalized communities. #antifascist

If you think that being an empath is the same thing as having empathy AKA basic human decency because #charliekirk said so then you should be fucking embarrassed. Cause they are not even remotely close to being the same thing.

Velshi Banned Book Club: Author Angie Thomas and a big win against censorship in Florida
In August of 2024, a group of publishers, students, parents, and best-selling authors including Velshi Banned Book Club vets like Julia Alvarez, Laurie Halse Anderson, Jodi Picoult, and Angie Thomas filed a lawsuit against Florida for book banning provisions within House Bill 10-69, which saw 700+ beloved works of literature removed from shelves in the state. And this week, “we pushed back, and we won,” says author Angie Thomas. The freedom to read was upheld. “None of these books are obscene” wrote the judge in a 50-page decision. Books "are a gateway" to empathy, says Thomas. "They allow us to step into lives unlike our own.”
